It was an ankle tap with the hand and it was so unsuccessful he hardly broke stride never mind tripped, so the review panel won't be looking at it.

Well that's no wonder is it. Last night 11 of the Wigan team came through their academy, plus one in the Wakefield side. I think Wakefield had one in their side. It's a good job that some clubs invest in their youth systems or as a game we would be back to part timers, which I think is what a lot of the flat cappers would prefer.
Just to emphasise the point, as Wigan had two of their CURRENT academy players in the team last night.
Today Wakefield U19 16 Wigan 56.

| Well thankfully I will be otherwise engaged for next Friday.
I'll be missing the game due to a demo in Manchester in support of SOLDIER F.
I am an Army veteran. As I also expect to see us getting hammered next Friday.

| Quote jonh="jonh"I think last night the lads that took the field were a credit to the club, particularly the forwards.
It was always going to be an almost impossible task to contain what is a massive Trinity pack, especially when Chester started with England, Fifita, and Pauli Pauli (which he hasn’t done so far this year) and a massive bench also'"
Fifita and Pauli have started the last 4 games including this one...England the same other than Huddersfield which he missed through injury?
I know Wigan fielded a young and inexperienced pack...who I must say I thought were excellent in the first 35 minutes...injuries crippled us though and it was super human efforts from Fifita and Pauli to play 80 minutes and 76 minutes respectively...it kind of blunted the impact we usually have in the last 20 minutes as they weren't afforded a rest. If you'd have seen Fifita's second spell against Huddersfield you'd know what I mean...simply unplayable and although he was handled quite well by Wigan I think if he'd have had his normal rest after half time he'd have blown Wigan apart at the back end...the scoreline flattered Wigan in the end I thought...

Bit harsh I think to criticise us and our youth system?
It's an area a lot of Wakey fans have felt badly about for so many years when we were a struggling side...we've turned the club round big style in many ways though and I'd like to think we have with producing our own too...we're still years behind Wigan who have always been excellent at bringing youth through but we are much improved in my opinion...
Jowitt is obviously the one you are saying for us but don't forget Brough and Wood came through our academy!
We are missing two through injury who would be certain starters in Johnstone and Batchelor and Jordy Crowther has played quite a few games this season and just missed out on selection the other night with England coming back in. I know it's still way short of what we'd like but Rome wasn't built in a day and it's a major improvement on years gone by and at least now the club is being run properly we are able to keep hold. The way things are going at present I can only see these numbers improving year on year..
