| Back OT, just watched it back and Sky tried to be clever with the graphics on the pitch on the wide shot in the first half, so it was a few seconds out of synch with the close-up shots. They scrapped the graphic after half time and it was fine.

| Quote Magic Superbeetle="Magic Superbeetle"It may "only" be 2:15 on the train from Euston, but that's just not how it works. I work in Victoria, supposing I left work on the dot of 5pm (
I don't know when the last time that actually happened) it'll take me 30 minutes to get to Euston (and that's if I'm lucky and can physically get on the first tube that turns up which is 50/50 at best) - so I'd get to Euston at around 5:30, which, more likely than not means I'll of missed the 17:30 to Wigan, which leaves me the option of the 17:43 (which gets to wigan at 20:37) the 17:57 (20:00) or 18:30 (20:25) - aka I'm missing the match. So my choices are either leave work early (not gonna happen) or not go - based on trains alone.
That's before I look into return journey (which would be potentially more important than the journey there), financial implications, potential delays on trains, politics of the office for me leaving early or anything else.
Regards
The typical london worker.'"
So your point is that it is possible?

I can only assume that this comment is facetious, or that you didn't actually read my post.
The only way the trip is in any way feasible is if you don't have a job. The only way you could afford to make that journey is if you have a job. See the paradox?

| Quote Aboveusonlypie="Aboveusonlypie"Oh dear, I seem to have touched a nerve. A while ago you told me you weren't going to read my posts again, you should have stuck to your guns mate. You sound like you are in poor mental health.
As for whether you can't afford it - I don't believe you. We all make choices. As you've said you're in work. The cost of watching RL is dirt cheap. A fan would find the money.
You're not a fan - that's ok. But your views are worthless.'"
Are you for real?? I'm genuinely interested, do you actually believe people should justify why they did or didn't attend the game last night????

| ABOVE US ONLY PIE... do you have SKY SPORTS etc?
if so you are not a fan of any sport, because you watch it on the tele instead and do not attend games. what a worthless argument you are trying to put across here. give it up. people are entitled to follow a team in any way they feel, are able to or even simply just want to. If it doesn't live up to your standards then go buy an executive box and watch from there instead.

As you are genuinely interested- no I don't think people should justify why they don't go to the game. But if they offer an opinion then it should be informed.
I would have thought that people would be ashamed at the crowd last night. It was a poor effort. I feel for the players playing in front of a stadium one third full. Perhaps if all the so-called fans abandoned their keyboards and went the game occasionally we might have better informed debate.

Nothing to do with my standards. Just take a look at a dictionary definition of "fanatic".
Of course I watch the football on sky sports. I'm not a fan though cos I don't go. Simple really.

There doesn't need to be a debate informed or otherwise, the discussion is about the poor editing on the sky footage, anybody who chose to watch the match on the TV and have an opinion on the quality of the footage should not have to justify themselves as a fan to you or anybody and for you to have an opinion on wether somebody can afford to go to a game or not is utterly disrespectful.
Of course it is poor that the crowds drop for cup and play off matches but when cost comes into it that's always going to be the case.

| Quote Aboveusonlypie="Aboveusonlypie"Some people completely miss the irony of coming on a "Fans forum" and admitting that they don't go to the game!!!
I've made the point before - fan is short for fanatical - not very fanatical sitting on your @rse watching tele is it? Especially as the club were practically giving the tickets away.
Excuses like "I work on a Thursday" is a bit lame. Especially as we got almost double the attendance against Warrington the week before for a meaningless game. I very much doubt that the missing thousands were ALL working last night.'"

| Quote Harry Pinner="Harry Pinner" Leeds are worst for this, watch on Saturday and you'll see headingley 3/4 empty, playing Cats will make it worse.'" Average attendances over last 5 play off games:
St Helens - 12,041 (HKR/Warr/Wig/Hud (last game at KR)/Warr)
Leeds - 11,482 (Sts/Wake/Hull/Wig/Catalan)
Wigan - 9,102 (Hudd/Leeds/Leeds/Catalan/Catalan)
None of them great for the biggest games of the season but Wigan's look disproportionately poor compared to the others.
