Shocking attempt.

Unfortunately on that front I am a pessimist. Current injury list, difficult forthcoming fixtures, likely outcome from Hock's B test and a general lack of consistency under Noble's coaching can't give me too much hope. If we can find a way in the Semi then I might start believing, but until then I will take each game as it comes without daring to dream of any success this season. It would be stupid to ignore the evidence during this season of the fundamental problems remaining at the club, I think things are improving but there is still a long way to go yet.

Joking apart, Edwards is a pipe dream, but one I hold on to more in hope than immediate expectation.

he may do but i actually think he'll probably want a job with the English RU scene 1st.
Plus the RU boys are always after our training techniques so i think they'd fight tooth and nail to keep him.

If he came back to League it would only be with Wigan though.

I honestly can't see Edwards ever being Wigan coach.

Realistically he won't come here for at least a couple of years (due to doemestic circumstances) and by then he will have been out of the game for so long that it would be difficult for him regardless of his ability. Plus he has a life where he is now - is the lure of coaching Wigan that stong? If he failed or even was mediocre the stick he would get and lose his semi-mythical status here? Is that worth the risk?

Then he has a huge status in RU and who knows what offer he will get there as well - possibly something within the England setup in the next year or two (especially if Wasps start to improve again).

Plus Wigan may well appoint a new coach from next season who would likely be on a two/three year deal and IL has already shown he is not one for chopping and changing coaches so that would be a further block.

If he does come back, let me know so I can put twenty quid on you remaining trophyless for another ten years at Ladbrokes.
