All speculation over who could potentially be sacked is obviously wrong but all that aside what does it take to sack a player?

The only players I’ve ever known to have been sacked are the likes of Hock and Hudson and we all know the reasons for that. Normally disagreements mean players move on from the club but hardly ever sacked!

How does that players wages then count against the cap?

I imagine there has to be a breach of contract for the club to sack the player, in which case his wages wouldn't count on the cap.

I think its different if its a mutual termination sort of thing, not too sure about that.

Heard that the club let Holland go last week. Ended his contract. Sorry if its old news - Cliffy is a bit off with his reporting at the moment! There was no "sacked " mentioned though.

Mick Hogan leaving would be a blow. Not only has he been doing an awesome job, but we've invested a lot in the marketing team i.e going abroad to America to watch the NFL IIRC. I hope it's not true.

If a player had been sacked from your reporting of the team news you would definately know about it as you certainly have insider knowledge.

Its a shame about holland but i just couldnt ever see him getting a game. Its good the club sent him out on a duel contract though to help him get established elsewhere before releasing him.

I just heard they let him go as he, was like you said, never going to get a game. Not heard of any bad feeling surrounding it though. I wish the lad well and hope that he doesnt see it as the end of his career.

this thread has suddenly kicked into life. Interesting news of someone being sacked. I am sure the club will let everyone know in good time, If its true that is..

So are we just talking about Holland here, or Ainscough as well. Or is that just a rumour? I'm confused.
