| Quote hengirl="hengirl"Williams is for me a bit of an enigma yes when his form comes he can be a joy to watch, for some people clearly that happens every game, they’re entitled to their opinion and I’ll not argue that with them.
I think Williams has reached a wall at Wigan and has been standing still for the last couple of years in particular,he needs to move on,personally I think he will do well over there and become the player that some see all the time but most only see in flashes'"
The worst thing about the whole saga is from the minute he became marquee and signed that big contract he did everything he could to leave. It has to be unsettling on everyone else regardless of what the public face of it all from his teammates is. Good riddance to him.

| Here's the blunt truth - Williams had more outstanding games for Wigan before his "Marquee" wage than he did after.

| Quote Levrier="Levrier"Nothing has happened recently that we did not expect. Last season the hierarchy were saying that we were undersized. We did not replace some of the best players in the country like for like and then lost a couple of likely starters for other reasons. We have regularly been over playing and depending on first year professionals which is rarely a good sign. Our main strike players have included Isa who is the kind of utility player that every club needs but will never really trouble defences with his bulk.
Now what we need to do is to plan for the future. Our two best second rows play on the same side and one of them does not seem to want to play any more. Our captain and scrum half and one prop should be planning for life after playing. There are rumours about the intentions of our incoming marquee half and we have a player who wants to play full back who has been tried in every other position. Add to that we will be trying to decide who to play in the centre from a converted winger, a converted fullback and a utility player. Finally we have several players who are not good enough and who may not get much game time next year but who will be on a good wage and who might enjoy living in Toronto.

What rumours are there with Hastings?

From what I believe the NRL clause in his contract allows him to leave after 2020 season if desired. Therefore he is contracted to us for at least the first twelve months.

Quote post="post"And on this basis whoever is in charge of recruitment needs to go. Don’t get me wrong, French looks an exciting attacking player but some of his tackles tonight made me wonder whether he’d ever tackled anyone before tonight. I’m wondering what position he will play? I know he’s come over early but what position next year? Utility?'"

18 tackles none missed, including the try saver on Bibby?

I didn’t say he missed tackles, but from experience he didn’t look confident making those tackles from experience looked like a player trying their hardest to mask that fact and if I were the opposition I’d have my players running over the top of him. Now I don’t expect a good solid tackler due to the size of him and his position, it was just an observation.

That try saving tackle was one of the best I've seen in a long while.

| A number of posters on here commenting on French as a FB and his defensive weaknesses without ever seeing him play a single minute in the role.
Whatever next.

| Swapping Hardaker for say Lauchlan Lam would be a no brainer for me. A French - Hastings - Lam combo looks very exciting.
Serious doubts about Adrian Lam but I doubt bringing in Hastings and maybe Lauchlan would be possible without him being here.

I'd really like to know how often and how much fans have seen Lachlan Lam play in over the last 18 months.

| Lachlan Lam is basically a junior with no first team rugby under his belt. I’d rather throw Harry Smith in tbh. Next season would be his best chance of making it, playing alongside Hastings will ease him in nicely.
