At the start of the season I wanted Shorrocks to be given a chance at 7 but he got injured again and ended up on loan at Salford where he failed to impress. He’s still a player of great potential but I fear he’s heading in the direction of Hampshire in that he isn’t going to fulfill it. Hope I’m wrong and I reckon he’s worth persevering with. I too would be disappointed if we didn’t recruit a new half back for next season.

Agreed. I’m happy to see players like Shorrocks and Woods being given a chance but his spell at Salford was poor. I just don’t see a way back into the fold for him, Woods is clearly in front with Powell in front of them both and potentially a new #7 inbound pushing him further down the pecking order.
Even at hooker he has Ganson, TL and Powell in front of him. Personally I think for his benefit he needs to move on and rebuild himself elsewhere. He may well turn out to be what Joe Mellor is to Widnes at a different club but I just don’t see him succeeding at Wigan unfortunately.
As always I, along with you and others I suspect, am quite happy to be proved wrong and if that be the case I’d be happier to write how wrong I was. I actually hope that this will be the case TBH as I don’t really like writing off young lads chances at the club.

All the mess by resigning players like Sarg and Tomkins Marquee have pushed the envelope.
This is spin put out by Wanes crowd, simples.
Lenners will do the right thing for the club.
Sometimes I think you are Wane or at least related..
Haha i wish was him or related. My bank account would be much better off!
Taken in context with the two signings we’ve made it seems like a daft rumour, but we stand to lose a few more players by next season so maybe Wane was told to replace those with youth, who knows?

Even if this was true IMHO it’s a p*ss poor reason to go. It’s hypocritical coming from SW given he was the one not long ago banging the drum for a team full of Wiganers which would have been almost certainly all drawn from the academy.
I just don’t see it being the genuine reason he’s gone at all.

It's not true, its just spin from Wane lovers.
There is money to be spent, Lenners just doesn't want Wane wasting on his cronies any more!!

Good, and I’m more inclined to believe what you’ve said.

| IL wanted a team from the Wigan set up it just shows that it does not work its good to see all the Wigan academy lads getting a chance .However players are needed with experience we have players in the first team squad who are not good enough for Wigan and are average. Tommy is finished as is Lockers both have been good for the club .Powell is never a scrum half in the memory of man more of a hooker. Sargison not good enough Gelling was better even with his brain farts. With the players leaving Sutton, Sam T, Bateman??? Joel T already left,a new coach coming in to take over time for a clean sweep and get SPECIALISED players for the spine not project players who can fill in .
We have replaced Sam with Hardaker and Joel T with Greenwood we don't need any more project players only experienced players .

| If Widnes go down we should be all over Danny Walker at hooker. Maybe Whitley (SR) and one of the Chapelhow's (big props) as well.

Tommy is having a cracking season and it baffles me that some people can’t see it. As for Lockers, who is still good enough to be England captain being finished, well in all honesty, words fail me.
Both are clearly in the twilight of their careers but both are still performing to a high standard. I’d hope to see both have at least 1 more season.

Alternatively - maybe Scotland RU just offered Wane a lot more money than we can, and he recognised that top level sports management is a volatile career where you need to make as much money as possible whilst your reputation is good.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

It is certainly the case that SW announced his new job relatively quickly after announcing his resignation.
No one seems to be considering that, yet again, RU might have swooped on an RL asset, with RL simply unable to fend them off.
