The travel is not the problem. Giving up home advantage and what that entails - the crowd, the familiarity and normality of ones own ground compared to a foreign one. Wigan's form away from home this season is also not the best!

As a fan I'm looking forward to it more as the atmosphere should be much better but it's not ideal for the team. They've been superb at the DW and they're giving an advantage away there.

It could work both ways though.

I will be surprised if there are more than 5k there, it's now an away game our away form will have to improve but if you want to get to Wembley these are the games you have to win.

Or delay pitch work by a week and ask Salford to postpone the game on 19th June due to " pitch being injured " !

Don't like that it's moved and to make it even worse it's on a Friday night. Gate will be awful. Should be played Saturday or Sunday afternoon to get more home and away fans in. The fact that we could have got a home cup draw should have been taken into account when the pitch resurfacing was scheduled.

Disgraceful...no wonder the crowds are dwindling..playing second fiddle to a division 3 football team...you couldn't make it up.

The scheduling is nothing to do with Latics, really - the pitch can't be done in [iour [/ioff-season for obvious reasons, so we have to fit it in somewhere.

I know people who took some persuading to go to the DW once Central Park had gone. They came back gradually then we switched one match to Widnes cos of a fixture clash and they haven't set foot in the DW since as far as they are concerned it isn't our home if we can't play all our home matches there. This could see even more boycott home matches.

The whole point of a cup draw is that if your name comes out of the hat first then you play at home. Switching to Leigh of all places is ridiculous. Would sooner have played at Orrel as at least we own the facilities there.

Not an issue.
All teams have issues with their grounds at times for various reasons:-
Salford played at Leigh
Leeds have played at Elland Rd
St Helens played at Widnes
Bradford played at Valley Parade
The DW Stadium is the best stadium in the super league by a country mile and if it means moving the odd fixture for essential maintenance then so be it.
Wherever Wigan play I will be there cheering them on.
