| Quote Carneys Cover="Carneys Cover"who Hull KR? You were awful, you knocked on more balls than I care to think about, your right centre bombed 4/5 tries with god awful passes to Gardner. Wigan were worse than awful and still got a result.....embarrassingly.'"
It did pour down before kick off so you can understand a lot of the handling errors and after losing 84_6 last time I'm quite happy with a point in the end

| Quote Carneys Cover="Carneys Cover"I would agree, had we been consistent this season. We fell of the wagon after Wembley last year but played well before it. We have been hot and cold all season, and frankly not that hot. Sarginson needs to start passing or be dropped. The only thing Manfredi or burgess will catch is frostbite outside him.'"
We were awful before the cup final as well, lost three of the four SL games before it.
Get our first choice pivots ( 1, 6, 7, 9, and 13) all fit and playing in the play-offs and we'll be a different proposition.
The last time our first choice pivots played together was Good Friday.

| we had one run from dummy half tonight, powell was non-existent for 80 mins. Bowen had a shocker, the two penalties for challenging in the air for the high balls were embarrassing from charnley and bowb. Ben Flower was the only player to come out with any credit tonight, ran straight and true like a proper forward. Crosby apart from his first run went backwards, pettyborne....... enough said. Jack Hughes....why?... Gelling had another solid performance, smith's kicking game was terrible and lets not mention the fact he CANNOT CONVERT trys. We need a new kicker next season he is not it. I don't even remember the others players being involved tonight such was their lack of effort.

| Quote MadDogg="MadDogg"Completely and utterly unacceptable overall.
I sense a return to the Brian Noble days where every other game is a half d performance.
We've had a handful of good performances this year but ultimately its been a poor season from Wigan so far. Didn't show up in the WCC or CC and nowhere near as consistent as previously in the regular year.'"
Jesus what an embarrassing post. We are second in the league. We have the biggest points for and the second lowest points against. We have had no more poor games than our closest competitors, and whilst this was one of ours, we still came back and didn't lose it. Get a bloody grip.

| Green should never have started the game he should have come off the bench. The halfback pairing for the last month or so has worked fine so why change it

We lost 7 out of 9 SL matches at the end of 2013, including the last 4, it wasn't just falling off after Wembley, we were visibly holding back for the more important games. I'm appalled with how we played tonight, and also against Bradford, but the fact is it means very little. We will still likely finish in the top 4, but even if we don't we could have a good crack at it from 5th or 6th. I really can't wait til we get rid of this god awful league system.

We clearly disagree. That's fine but I absolutely stand by my post.
Wigan's standards in 2014 have fallen in comparison to the last few years.
Any match like that though when viewed on its own or in context with the rest of the year is not acceptable whatsoever. Embarrassingly outenthused.

| Due to your superior for and against is this basically a loss for you? Us and Leeds had to win 1 more game than you anyway due to this and we still have to win 1 more game. If you understand what I mean.

| A very poor performance other then the first 5 and last 10 minutes. However poor teams rarely finish a match so strongly so there's no need for panic. 3 wins, if we really want them, will still see us finish top.

| We'll hopefully pull everything together for the start if the season in 4 weeks time.
Pre season is always a good time to blow away the cobwebs.

I'll throw my 2 pence in to this philosophy.
This time last year, yes you had lost xyz in the run up to the playoffs, and it was a tactic that worked very well (clearly) - but in the first half of the season, you had completely dominated, and it gave the sense that there was more to come during that bad patch.
I just (as an outsider) don't feel the same sense of foreboding coming from this Wigan team compared to last year, and it will take a lot more this time around to turn poor form around (supposing the trend continues)

Add to it that a lot of the concentration/distraction 12 months ago was on the CC whereas this year it isn't.
