Looks as though Charnley won't play this week and is a doubt for the cup semifinal. According to Wane via Phil Kinsella on Twitter.

This bloody farcical exiles game has cost us two of our best players now. So annoyed.

So with Josh now out for Wakefield, we could end up with only 3 of our first choice backs available.

When it rains, it pours.

The one thing this squad could cope with is injuries to forwards but sadly it can't cope half as well with injuries to backs. We don't have a great deal of experienced cover and we'll need some luck when it comes to the big games or we'll be struggling.

I hope the club have a real focus on signing backs for next season rather then forwards. We'll need to replace Carmont, Finch and Leuluai with more then kids from the u20's.

Wane said hes going to bring Thornley in to replace Charnley; surely Goulding to the wing and Thornley to right centre?

Tuson - possible return.

Prescott - doubt.

McIlorum - doubt.

Be good to see how Thornley plays I know he's highly rated by those who have seen his past academy performances, I hope he really steps up and makes use of the opportunity.

Seems a big ask, but heres hopeing.... He is certainly very highly regarded, and he has lots to prove i would imagine.

Heard Thornley has been playing well in the couple of weeks he has been back, scored a brace last weekend at the SOL fan day, was told he looks a real handful.

Long term I've heard it's Thornley in for Carmont partnering Joe Burgess (a real prospect!) who the club are looking to replace Pat when he retires!

Spot on. Anyone know why this is the case? Is it because we've built a squad around having a rotating pack, to the exclusion of all else, or have we just been unlucky in that the youngsters who were due to come through in the backs haven't made the grade?

The latter, mainly. Ainscough was a disappointment, Thornley left to RU, Mellor got a long-term injury, Marsh's progress seems to have stalled, Veivers was never all that good, Powell I hope will come through, the rest are still largely "works in progress", though I think Russell, King and Murphy have the ability and attitude to progress.

Anyone know who's kicking the goals?
