You've only got to look at millwards record to see he's a good coach. He win cup after cup at saints and did a fantastic job at Leigh ( twice ).
It didn't work out at Wigan for whatever reason but tha don't make him a bad coach.
In world sports top class coaches have failed at some point in there career but that don't make them a bad coach. |

He inherited a good team at Saints, failed here, and has now found his level at Leigh. Glad we agree...  |

That is the biggest fallacy on these boards.
Mike Maguire told the players to forget EVERYTHING they knew about RL and started from scratch. Right from the very basics, passing, catching, tackling etc. Our team didn't need a slight adjustment to succeed - it needed a massive culture change.
The way we prepare for games/train/play our rugby bares absolutely no resemblance to anything we did under Brian Noble. Mike Maguire changed everything. |
