Each new Leeds loudmouth who comes on here to squeak that this fixture isn't bothering him only convinces me more and more that the opposite is true.

You're the latest.

Looks like Peacock has got you all rattled judging by your reaction to a bit of two bit reporting in a local rag.
Mission acomplished from him. Imagine that this has wound the Wigan players up as much as their fans. Be a decent bit of biff on Saturday.

Quote: Guerrier "So the two league games (that the 4 points we gained ensured we finish top) were unimportant then?'"

Considering you are travelling away to Leeds, who finished 4th, to get to OT - yes they were.

Imagine you are out jogging when you trip on a curb and feel your knee go, causing extreme pain - do you

a) go for the nearest grass verge as quickly as possible.

b) grab onto a passing cyclist for stability?

The fact that the leeds camp have tried to make out that McGuire was trying to support himself by using Carmont after injuring himself - rather than what actually happened; he grabbed him, clipped his boot and hyper-extended his knee has made the situation much worse.

At the time I was fuming that McGuire had tried to hold Carmont back; but after it became clear that he was injured; I felt sorry (as I do when any player is injured). However the comments from McClennan in the post match interview, combined with the "he was trying to support himself" waffle has meant a lot of bad blood. Why couldn't McGuire just hold his hand up and say "I didn't deserve to be injured; but I shouldn't have pulled Carmont back"? The RL community would have had a lot more respect for him and it would have made the fans that said "he deserved it" change their minds.

As it is, it appears the Leeds camp are trying to stir things up for the match on Saturday making it likely that whoever gets through to the final will be depleted, either from suspension or injury; making the Saints/Giants job much easier. What worries me more is that silly talk like this makes crowd trouble more likely - and that is something that we definitely don't need in rugby league.

This straight from the Leeds book on myopia in that it's the same as their interpretation of the Ablett/Sam incident.
Leeds fans of course maintained that their man never hit Tomkins and that Sam was milking the penalty.
I wonder what Peacock's opinions on that incident were!
At least the SStanders don't get their crackpot views in the paper.
Peacock needs charging with bringing the game in to disrepute.

icon_biggrin.gif Ziggy....ziggy....ziggy.

So you want to be on the front row?....no problem...simply pop into the Skyrack before the game and identify yourself! icon_biggrin.gif

As for the rest of you, try and behave, no bog brushes, tripe sandwiches or empty tupperware boxes to be lobbed on the pitch please.

I'm sure it will be a cracker of a game, with on our side, particular attention being paid to the Tomkins brats, and winding up Fielden. His dummy spitting has almost been up to Lee Briers levels at times, and has been much appreciated by the Southstand over the years.

Never read such utter tosh in all my life. Also, can't quite believe this quote from the paper - "replays suggesting it was his ligaments tearing which actually forced the grimacing stand-off to grab his opponent and try to break his fall." Utter drivel...

Well you'll need to do a better job than you have so far. Two attempts to take Sam's head off have signally failed. And bearing in mnd that he's about four stone wet through, that makes all this tough talk from Leeds quite amusing.

As was the statement TL and Riddell delayed McQuire getting treatment. Peacock has lost all creditability with this rant and there is no excuse for it. Certainly not any so called psychological mind games before this weeks game.
