20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| The thing is pro RL aren't like the rest of us, they have a maverick lifestyle and only train 10am til 1pm every day, they are on a fortune in excess of £50,000 a year so if they did get told last minute that they had the week off they could easily afford a holiday so it isn't like us booking a holiday and being told we can't take it due to fooking up is it?
Normal folk like us get 20 odd days a year holiday but RL players only train 10 to 18 hours a week and play an 80 minute game a week and there is challenge cup weekends, international weekends, play offs if they don't make them They have plenty time off to go on their jollies, the simple fact is they got beat fo the worst team in the comp and went off on holidays.

So because he didn't book weeks ago like others did (because they were told they were getting the week off) he cares more about Wigan RL? I wouldn't read into that as him having cancelled anything - he probably didn't have anything planned anyway.
Best scenario? Players all go on a short break, come back to a new coach, all fresh and revitalised ready for the second half of the season. Too bad that isn't going to happen.

| If they were going on holiday after an outstanding first half of the season none of us would care about this story. However, Saturday was symptomatic of Wigan in the Noble era. Lack of passion, just doing enough to get by or slipping to a rubbish defeat and absolutely no tactics or invention whatsoever.
I'm sick to death of these rubbish, listless performances. The better teams in the league would have beaten Celtic by 20-30 points and done the job. Celtic played well on Saturday, absolutely fair play to them, but we were utterly dreadful in every way.

Nobby picks his statements to absolute perfection don't he? of all the things to say after the crapest performance of the season he announces that they are hurting so have gone on a jolly. It's so wrong it's laughable.
does anyone else think he mentioned the 'holiday' merely to deflect a bit of attention from himself?
Probably in the hope that the fans' wrath would deflect to the players, several pages of rants on message boards about being "unprofessional", "any player worth their salt would be doing extra training", "if I mess up at work, I dont get an all expenses paid holiday..." etc etc
Briliant bit of spin to deflect attention from his inadequacies and drop his team well and truly in it.
WOuld he have mentioned the holiday if they had won? I doubt it
the sooner this joker goes, the better

| Quote: Boris "They can go off on holiday during the off season.'"
I agree with this Boris.
It's just another reflection of the mentality at the club. There is a lack of 'seriousness' to their approach and desire to win. It's almost like they don't really care if they win anything at the end of the season, and why would they? Their wages remain the same, there is little punishment or anything to face if the club loses, this goes for the manager as well as the players.
Each player throughout their career should be totally focused on winning, and doing whatever they can to win. I.e, training, preparation, skills, determination, desire all need to be worked on.
If a player wouldn't give his all to win then he has no place on the pitch.
There is no need for a mid-season holiday to win, it's crazy to think players need a week or so in the sun, to help. By this stage they should be pushing into 5th gear ready for their run at 1st or 2nd place, instead we have trouble taking off the handbrake.
As discussed in Radz's book there is a lack of professionalism and determination to win at Wigan. We need to bring in people who drive home what it takes to be a winner, (Faz) as right now I barely see a winner in cherry and white.

| I would have thought a squad trip away in camp somewhere sunny would be a more beneficial "break" than individual p*ss ups.

You mean like the pre season jolly to Lanzarote that they all went on. How beneficial has that proved to be?
A revolution is needed at that club, not a holiday. Weed out the work shy feckers who are only prepared to bend their backs one game in every five. Time for some very tough decision making. This is about transformation of a culture at the club. IL needs to treat it like ground zero. Accept that the club is a disaster zone and needs building back up again from the bottom. Bad attitude will not be tolerated. If Noble can identify players who disrespected the game on Saturday and have done so on many other occasions then those feckers should be told that they are effectively finished at the club and should instruct their agents to find them new employers. I don't care how big their reputations are. Hull KR came up from a lower league, started from scratch and continue to progress year on year and that is all about CULTURE and ATTITUDE. They've got it right, as have other clubs. We've got both woefully wrong and a paying the price. Their needs to be some blood letting at the club. Give the players a choice. Turn up at Rivington Pike at 4.30am on Saturday for training or take your designer flip flops, fook off abroad and give someone like Rochdale or Swinton a ring when you get back because the National Leagues require players with National League attitude.
Viva la revolution!
