If the rumours are true I'd like to thank Noble for the hard work he has done in turning the club around. For some unkown reason it just hasn't worked out this year but I believe this squad (altough still relatively poor IMO) is better than the one Nobby inherited and has the foundations to kick on. Just short of a couple of props and a world class half-back.

However I now look forward to this "anyone but Noble" coach to take THIS squad to challenge Saints and Leeds for the championship on a consistent basis as clearly that is what quite a lot think this squad is capable of.

Just some points re potential replacements I still can't think of any outstanding candidate. If someone with a track record like Noble's can't do it I think we are gonna have to take a gamble on someone like Edwards/Lam/Wane/Kearney.

The club needs a whole culture change with regards attitude but I believe the coach can only do so much. The players with the bad attitude are the ones that need routing out whomever they may be because I don't believe this sacking a coach every 2 or 3 years is healthy.

I disagree there tbh, ideally yes, but if we want a coach of a good calibre then it's unlikely they will currently be unemployed. Therefore maybe the best option for the time being is to promote wane so head coach for the rest of the season, the respect that the younger players have for him is what is lacking for Noble.

After that Wane will have 6 months on being a head coach on his CV, and although it does seem a masssive step at the moment for him, it could possibly lead into him becoming a leading player in the new coach's regime.

I cant believe no one has mentioned Wayne Bennett!

Clearly the best RL coach in the world and would certainly take the club back to where it should be.

I think the club is currently out of control and someone as well respected as Bennett would put some respect back into the cherry and white shirt.

I think everyone would love WB but find it highly unrealistic. I don't think we're the attraction we used to be and apparently he has family issues which prevent him working abroad. I agree though next to God he's the next best thing.

Will never happen hes 6 months into a 4 year deal at st george. As stated a number of times he will never leave australia because of his disabled daughter.

Maybe he is maybe he is not, regardless of the Noble situation only 1 person can take full responsibility for that and that is Gaz Hock himself.

Its all speculation clearly but given the timing of the sacking it would suggest the 2 are in some way related despite all the denials that will follow, personally i think it is more to do with standards or a lack of them within the core of the players which must be dealt with, and the person who is mainly responsible for this has to be the coach, hence i think a few things came to a head and a few things have been highlighted by this situation and the coach has paid the price.....again pure speculation on my part i hasten to add!

I am taking the sacking of Noble to be a very positive step which rounds off a bad few days on a high for the club and a step in the right direction for the first time in a long time. We have hit the bottom and a swift reaction has been made which is exactly what was needed. Even without Hock I am more optomistic about the rest of this season and the future of the club than I was this time last week, that could all change when the new coach is announced of course, if it is anyone with a link to the Bradford club other than Smith then i will again be gutted!
