Mini is in meltdown mode at the moment, I'm chilled (lying git). We'll have to see what can be done.
Things are looking better.

| Quote: Alex BP' "We didn't sell any where near 5500 for the Semi at Widnes in 2004 and we only attracted just over 6000 there for the playoff game v Bradford last year.
Thinking about it, I think it's a fine venue and it'll be nice to (hopefully) have a sell out.'"
Rugby League aiming Low as always!
I remember Lindsay getting slated for taking Aus/NZ test matches to Wembley and "ONLY" getting 50k and not selling the ground out!
Now were happy to get 20k for a Test match in a 25k stadium because it creates a Good atmosphere!
I remember in the 80's & 90's Wigan taking 14/15k + to semis at Maine Road/ O/T /Burnden Park etc when our "Average" attendances were no different to now.
If you market it right, set realistic prices and make it accessible (IIRC you could actually pay on the day at most of these events previously) we should be able to sell 20k for a Wire/Wigan Semi quite comfortably inc Corporate etc when were happy to go for a 13k stadium with each club getting 5400!
No ambition in the game!

Agreed, agreed, agreed and err agreed. An excellent post...and wholly accurate. Rubbish decision, lacking any ambition. I'm sure there will be plenty wanting to go who don't.

Agree totally.
What I don't understand is if the RFL were so called consulting both clubs why was this venue still decided upon? I can understand the RFL making a monumental cock-up but not both club's chairmen as well.
It's extra frustrating for those of us who who go to games in large groups. The organisation involved at such short notice is a pain but I suppose I'd rather have this pain than not be involved in the semis at all.

| Toatlly agree, this lacks any ambition or forward thinking on behalf of the RFL and also the Clubs in agreeing to it, assuming there was some debate involved!
This was a great opportunity to attract many neutrals and lapsed spectators back to the game, I know a few blokes who would have come to watch it who dont normally attend on a regular basis if tickets had been available, now we cant even supply our own loyal fan base, it is a disgrace!

Come to think of it, they are not even capable of thinking anything like that up.

| The problem is there are no Maurice Lindsays about in RL HQ anymore. People with drive and ambition for the game.
The Rugby League World Club Challenge, take the games International to Wembley and Old Trafford. All Maurices ideas, and sell them.
But now we have Nigel Wood, who took his own club Halifax into administration.

| I'm sure most people will be fine for getting a ticket, I think they'll more than likely go on open sale too.

Huh?
I think you've been drinking, mate. Season ticket holders are allowed to buy four tickets each and only up to 12 June when tickets go on general sale.
