I shame our sport? Give over. You talk about but for the grace of God and conveniently overlook that every other club apart from Cas and Wakey have made strides. You should be thanking your lucky stars the powers that be lack the courage of their convictions. What is truly shameful is clubs stringing everyone along with promises of jam tomorrow - shameful behaviour indeed imo.

I don’t disagree that “making strides” could be argued to be deeply wounding for many clubs. However, I credit them for attempting to do the right thing. Can’t you appreciate that, 23 yrs into SL, some may look at Cas and think “why did we bother?” .

Maybe, but I’m pretty sure Leigh and Widnes will be wishing they hadn’t bothered and think Cas made exactly the right decision.

That's a fair point although the sums owed to the Fulton family suggest it's they who effectively own wheldon road, not cas.

I think the Fultons took shares in payment for the loans. They have so many now they basically own the club.
However they aren't selling the Jungle when the new ground is built but keeping it on as an "elite academy facility", whatever one of them is.

The Fulton family (Ian and Janet) own about 80% of the club. It's the same slice of the cake as the ownership of Rhino's (with Caddick/Hetherington) and Wakey (Carter/Berreton) so it's nothing special.

The original thread was about flares being set off at the Cas game. I see that on the Hudds and Cas forums it is being reported that Cas fans set off flares at last nights game.
