| Looking like he'll be going to team up with Maguire and the Rabbitohs for the rest of the NRL season before coming back.

Owens could have solved our goal kicking headache (if we have one, Smith is kicking pretty well).
Saints recruitment has been woeful recently hasn't it?!

With the exception of Fages, it's been shocking. I'm sure they had higher hopes that the likes of Burns would produce more and I thought he would've been a better signing than he has proved. Is the money not there or has McManus's arms shrank?

He is IMO the best winger we could've signed to replace Charnley realistically. Why is it so bad that players might want to come back?'"
Ignore him. The issue is he is upset because Wigan have pulled off a major piece of business. If he had signed for Leeds he would have been all over the forum saying what a wonderful player he was and how the NRL have messed up in letting him back to Superleague.

I predicted this signing way back in March

Moley's posted it. At least he'll get some more games under his belt, albeit in a woefully, regularly beaten team.

| Like Hodgson and Whitehead and Burgess (x3) and Graham and Ellis and Morley and Cooper...
Nah you're talking shat. Some make it, some don't. It's worth trying if you have any ambition about you (see Ryan Hall).
It's just easier to go if you're a forward (unless you're Mossop) as proven by the names above.

| What's embarrassing is "whales in puddles" like Peacock, Hall, Roby, Sinfield who settle for average careers in an average league without trying to go and play against the best in the world.
Oh and your posts. Them too.

| Better to try and fail (although can you really fail if you don't get an opportunity) then to have never tried at all.
Too many of England's top players have sat in a comfort zone rather then really go and test themselves and these are/were massively experienced guys. This is a young kid who's gone and taken a chance and it's not quite paid off but unlike the others the lad is young enough to give it another shot further down the line.

All the players you mentioned have proved themselves on the international stage
Peacock and Sinfield have captained their country and Sinfield has a golden boot
Those 2 plus Roby have beaten Aus and NZ with MotM performances
Hall has scored more than a try per game against Australia
Joe Burgess on the other hand has not scored against Aus or NZ
Whilst Sam Tomkins has never scored against Aus either
They played against the best in the world and didn't perform
Don't be jealous of us and Saints because we have actually retained some of our best talent

| Regardless of what has gone on at Leeds or Saints, Burgess coming back is a superb move by Wigan. He's head and shoulders the best option to replace Charnley IMO. He knows the club, knows the culture, knows what's expected and can convince others that the grass is not always greener. Sam, Joel and now Budgie have all come back so there is clearly something very positive about our great club and hopefully those 3 can help towards player retention for years to come.
Back to Sinfield, Peacock etc, they were very good players but opted not to test themselves in the bigger competition in NRL. If they lacked ambition or not is not for us to say but they have left a huge hole at Leeds, a hole which the rest of the club appear to have fallen into!! Anybody got a ladder?

It's a funny old situation isn't it?! When you read some people on here (and especially on the other Wigan forum) Wane does this wrong and that wrong and is at fault for a list of things as long as both my arms yet anybody who leaves the club seems desperate to come back.
Him and the club can't be all that bad I suppose!
