65% of the stadium was Wigan fans at the semi final, there was 4,000 Wigan fans down the side were the cameras were positioned, thats a third of the total attendance for a start, not to mention the seated stands which were full of Wigan fans.

Good job too, cos you'd be wrong on that score as well.

Would it not be possible to change "ends" in future.Put the away speccies in the South, and us in the North.?

Using the roof as an excuse to why 13,000 people cant create a better atmosphere than 250 people i really have heard it all.

They could, they just didn't.
As has been said, those that sing at away games all sit in different stands and areas at home games, making it nigh on impossible for them to create the same atmosphere at home. When you add in the fact that we went from the high of a challenge cup semi final against our rivals to what was expected to be (and was) a routine win against a lesser team (no disrespect meant there) it's understandable, if still frustrating, that there was no atmosphere yesterday from the home fans. As I've said though, fair play to the Salford fans that were there and made some noise.

| I was sat in the South yesterday and it had the atmosphere of a morgue. Wigan fans broke out in voice on two occasions both very late in the game and both were led by East Stand fans. The first was a rendition of 'Wem-ber-leeeeee' where we received ironic cheers from the Salford few. The other was the 'We can see you looting shops', again led by the East.
The difference between home and away atmospheres is mind-boggling!!

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

Hows about 13,500 Wigan fans not really being able to get enthused about playing a team such as Salford? Yep Ill go for that excuse....

Seeing your team run riot and put 50 plus on us, going to wembley and being top of the league not enough then?

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

With all your problems, all you can do is try to score points about how noisy our fans are.......
At least we were there.

1. Running 50 up against a team like Salford isnt much to get giddy about, now if it were Stains, Dire or Weeds Id have a sexy wee in my pants.
2. We were playing the game at the DW not Wembley
3. We were already top of the league

| Apart from some flashes of absolute brilliance, it was generally a dull game to watch. After watching us play sensational, rugby league selling matches against Wire and Saints in knock out competitions, putting 50 points against a team on a Sunday afternoon without getting out of second gear is quite a steep decline in excitement levels!

And that's really not the only problem Salford have got.
Their attendance was totally disgraceful. Given that they are a SL team supposedly going places - new stadium, big future (allegedly) - to bring only 200 people 15 miles down the M61 on a sunny Sunday afternoon would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.
Barrow brought many more than that over a much further distance, with significantly less chance of winning, back in the early rounds of the Challenge Cup.
And yet our bolshy little pal is more interested in scoring points over who sang the loudest (an area of argument which frankly has long been the preserve of losers).

Plastic roof? Surely that must contravene fire regulations.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

It's a transparent material to allow sunlight onto the pitch. Some kind of Perspex probably.
