| We shouldn't touch King or Thacks with a barge pole!
King of 3 or 4 years ago yes, not now though!
Thacks, never!

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

He doesn't look half bad, that 'I'veflemmedallovermetracky' (Ephelephe Luaiki??) looks tasty aswell and not afraid to mix it just ask Glenn Morrison he had a poop in his underpants.

Thackray had one 'awesome' season but before and after that has been less then average.
King used to be an half decent hooker and then moved to prop where he started off well but has got gradually worse as the years have gone up............booze catching up with him maybe!!!
If we signed either i'd really worry about whats going on.

Yes just for his name
But seriously, if there's nobody worth signing then it's best not to get desperate just for the sake of a prop, no matter how much we would all like one. If there aren't any available now then there's nothing much more we can do about it sadly.

| If we can't bring in a top quality prop i would rather us go with what we have. Same goes for every other position now. We already have pretty good cover in every position with a lot of local lads in there so if we are looking at strengthening it should be outstanding players that are really going to improve us that we should be looking at not people to just bolster the numbers.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

This should be our policy from now untill hell freezes over!!!...... If local kids believe they can play for their local team, we will get them. This will not happen in wendyball quite so quickly, but i believe they are taking some steps to reduce imports.

| If Shaum Wane does take over the coaching job maybe he could train some aggression and power into our front row. He had those aspects in his game and some of SW's passion wouldn't go amiss right now!

Seems to me like the mists of time have actually enhanced Wane's playing ability......

Thats what Ian Lenagan has basically said he's looking at doing but top draw players cost big money.
He'll have to be prepared to pay top dollar if he wants the very best players.

If memory serves, Waney missed quite a lot of match time through injury. That said, he was awesome the night we took Manly on - everything else is forgiven after that. (It was Manly or Aus in '86 - not quite sure, but I seem to recall him hititng every one of their forwards).
I think his rep these days owes a lot more to the very real coaching abilities he's shown while he's been at Wigan.

Agreed. Plus it would be a hoot to hear those none-too-dulcet Wigan tones on TV during interviews! He announces the team news in the lounges before each game and it can be quite entertaining, especially if you have any Aussies/Kiwis with you. They almost need a translation!
Seriously, it would be intriguing to see him given his chance. The obvious downside for him is that should it turn sour he will have lost everything - is it a risk woth taking from his point of view?
