Not being funny mate but you Saints fans have to be the softest melts in rugby league. I've never heard such bleating from any other set of fans. To hear you lot talk, Saints players are all paragons of virtue and every other team is full of dirty thugs. Grow a pair, for God's sake. It's embarrassing.

What are you on about? I'm simply suggesting someone like Neil Cowie wasn't a "far better" prop than Luke Thompson. He was a very tough bloke, but not in the same class.

I'm on about how Saints fans are the softest melts in rugby league and never stop bleating about other teams players being dirty. I thought it was fairly obvious from the text but perhaps you have trouble reading?
Actually you clearly do have trouble reading as nowhere on this thread is anyone comparing Neill Cowie to Luke Thompson. The poster you quoted says "even WIGAN had better props than they have today" (sic). See the bit in capitals? That's a place other than St Helens. Contrary to Saints fans belief, they do exist and the world doesn't revolve around the all conquering Saint Helens and their one major trophy in 5 years. I know...shocking isn't it? Who'd have thought they'd be discussing Wigan rather than Saints on a Wigan forum?
If you do want to turn the discussion to Saints, as you clearly do, are you seriously suggesting Andy Platt isn't comparable to Luke Thompson? I'll post a link to his career stats below. When Thompson's gets close to them, please feel free to come back and discuss it further.

If you have interpreted that post in that way then I'm not sure it's me who has trouble reading/understanding.
The whole premise of the post was comparing current top props to Peacock/Fielden, then saying even Wigan had better props at that time.
Unless you think the whole point of the post was to say that Andy Platt is a better prop than, say, Tony Clubb which I'm struggling to think would have merited the effort.
But then you've interpreted me comparing Thompson to Cowie as me saying Thompson was better than Andy Platt, so I can see that comprehension may be a slight issue.

So why choose Cowie? If you're trying to make that point, surely your best way would be to compare him to the best on that list...
But let's not hide behind semantics here. The only point of your post was to bring up the pathetic 'dirty' jibe, wasn't it? As I said; "the softest melts in rugby league"...

Because Cowie was explicitly listed as one of the props that was apparently much better and I disagreed?
Wow - you’re calling me soft for some reason but talk about defensive! Ok - Neil Cowie (who I don’t think had even signed for Wigan at Thompson’s age) is a better quality player than Luke Thompson. There we go, hope you can calm down now.

As you're being deliberately obtuse let me remind you what you said:
"I think you might be confusing dirtiness/toughness with quality here chap"
Now:
1. Point out where you mention Cowie specifically in that post.
2. As it was a comment clearly aimed at the props listed, would you like to enlighten us as to why you're now trying to make out it was specifically aimed at Cowie.
3. Please show where you mention Thompson at all.
4. Explain how the word 'dirtiness' finds it's way into your post.
5. This is not Redvee. Will you stop making excuses and trying to justify what is clearly meant as a dig.
And finally I'm not calling you, specifically, soft. I'm calling Saints fans in general soft. Please feel free to prove me wrong at any time by stopping bleating about other team's players being dirty/thugs/shouldn't be so nasty to our pwecious (sic) Saints boys. I won't hold my breath.

Remember Paul Forber and Roy Haggerty who played around the same time, hardly quality were they!

Forber the carpet carrier and Haggerty whose legs only moved from the knees down. Both below average at best

As I thought. Wouldn't it have been quicker just to admit you were being a d!ck in the first place? Alternatively try leaving your RedVee crap off here in the first place? A third option is to post some anti-Wigan nonsense then get all uppity and hurt when called out on it. I'll leave it for you to choose. Have a good weekend yourself.
