| Tony Smith's rotation policy has helped Wire. They looked in better condition right from the start whereas it was obvious to spot the Wigan players that weren't fully fit.
That doesn't excuse the terrible composure at the start of another big game. The players looked clueless and their decision making was poor.
McIlorum wasn't his usual self but that doesn't surprise me. He works tirelessly in every single game and because we've got no decent replacement hooker there's barely any chance to rest him. The effort was there from him but the concentration went very early. We desperately need another hooker to take the pressure off McIlorum.
Mossop's recent form has taken a nosedive, as has Lima's. The decision to play Prescott was absolutely ludicrous! There's no way at all that he can be fully fit after the time he's spent injured yet he's thrown in against the toughest pack we could face. At least Flower was showing signs that he was reasonably fresh.

| Sooner have a game like that now and still be top rather than at Old Trafford. We won't play that poor again.

Proof if you ever needed it that Wire fans are clueless.

The completion rates tell you otherwise...

| completion rates say nothing other than the set wasn't completed it doesn't say whether the errors were forced or unforced.
however i do agree that wigan seemed off the pace and i still think warrington have more in them

| Fair play to Wire they were far better on the night.
I actually thought Wigan defended well. Shaun Wane on Radio Manchester after the game said that Wigan had a 57% completion rate. What he didn't say was how many times we gave the ball away in our own 40. That was the killer.

Just got to hope for an improvement now until the end of the season.'"
Warrington can play alot better than that, and hopefully will with Smiths rotation policy. The score flattered Wigan a bit.
Wane needs to keep his mouth shut before games. He's just adding pressure to his players.

Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

Just to add to that, we also only had 40% of the possession.
Question I'd ask is. Did we do well to keep the score relatively low or did Wire struggle to really take us to the cleaners. Because as we showed against Leeds earlier this year, it's quite easy to put 50 on a top side when they aren't performing. Which I'm sure the Saints and Leeds side's of the not to recent past would have done to us tonight had we performed like that against them.

Tony Smith - "I think the gauntlet was thrown down for our forwards this week with some comments that they weren't going to be bullied but my boys stood up. I thought we were right on the money today."

| It was an awful performance, but it's not catastrophic.
We weren't torn apart from deep every set, we weren't completing set after set in their 20 and just not scoring points. We were poor, but we know it's not how we can play.
Fix it, move on and win our last 3 and top the table.

Correct. He needs to be smarter as a coach. People criticised Madge's media blackouts but boy did they work. He has been outsmarted yet again when it matters.

As always there's bound to be a bit of both. Wigan lacked composure and made uncharacteristic errors. Wire forced some errors and played with great intensity but there's no doubting that Wigan were woeful in the first half, just like they were against Leeds in the cup.
These Wigan players have faced tough defences and have been error free, so they are clearly capable of it. Mentally though the team just isn't there when it comes to big games.
