Or that they have an in-built inferiority complex.

So you can throw a bottle, but not the lid?? Sorry I dont understand this one bit.
Late into the game someone from the back did throw a nearly full bottle of beer down to front, hitting the advertisement boards.

To be fair this is standard at big events if you think about you throw a bottle with no lid and everyone gets wet but bottle can't do much
Throw a full bottle with a lid on and that's a serious thing to hit u in your head like

It's from the @saints1890 unsubstantiated rumour/witch hunt generator on twitter.

I asked what a 6 year old boy would do with a lid? Not a reply back. So he can have a plastic bottle full of pop, but put a lid on it and you have heath and safety problem??'"
Next time just take a spare bottle lid in your pocket and use it when they take the other one off you

Exactly what I've done in the past as I've come used to that rule for years.
Baffles me that people still are suprised by it and don't understand why.

| He was thrown out for throwing a toilet roll. I followed when the stewards escorted him, to make sure he was ok as he's only a young lad. He was ejected from the ground whilst "we check the cameras" and was the told he wasn't coming back in as "something was seen to be ejected from his hand". Before this was confirmed I asked a police officer on the scene what was occuring, he told me that Wigan fans had been throwing coins and bottles over the back of the stand onto our own fans. Thinking about this now, this is a very serious (and seemingly unfounded) story for anyone to allege, let alone a member of the police force. As someone who was stood towards the back of the stand, and spent time in the concourse (I had to queue the best part of half an hour for a bottle of water!!!) I saw no evidence of any incident of this type. All I saw come over the back of the stand was balloons caught by the wind that was blowing through the half a stadium that they've built. For him to allege the coin and bottle throwing and then it be confirmed the lad was thrown out for throwing a toilet roll seemed almost laughable. Being searched going into the ground was somewhat bizarre, as was the ban on flags and the very evident police and stewarding presence. But the day passed without incident as far as I could see, which of course should be the case at each and every game, and hopefully that will be taken into account upon our trip to Langtree Park next season.
As for the bottle tops, I fully understand that rule. Someone throws a bottle of water without a lid and it's almost empty when it lands. Someone throws a bottle with a lid and it remains full and heavy, especially if it's thrown from some height, such as from a stand onto the pitch.
Yes we call ourselves ultras, and to some this may conjour ideas of bad behaviour, which although I don't agree with I CAN understand. But I'd like to think our close contact with the Wigan club, constant good behaviour and good reports from stewards at away games, efforts in improving the atmosphere at games (which I can underdstand not everyone will agree with, not everyone likes to sing and jump around!) and the time spent preparing displays for home games as a group of mates would count for more than peoples ill-informed assumptions!

| The young lad was chucked out. Total injustice. I saw Wigan fans smoking in the end, ing in a bottle, I could go on.... none of them were chucked out. But instead a young fan with a bar scarf on was chucked out, I wonder why?
Who took all the bog roll and streamers anyway? It was fantastic. We should do the same at Leeds and Wire I reckon, but on a bigger scale.

Because he was seen throwing a bog roll. If I'd thrown one and been chucked out I wouldn't have had any complaints, it would be my own fault not the stewards. I don't know why it's relevant that he was young and wearing a bar scarf?

| Regarding the stewarding at the stadium. On the opening match of the stadium against Widnes the stewards were very vigilant. However on coming out we spoke to a female steward who was trying to hurry us out of the gates. Apparently the outside stewards come from away - this particular one came from Rotherham. She said they wanted to get everyone out as they had quite a journey home. I think we must have our own stewards inside with a few from away and then the outside ones are ones we bring in from an outside firm. It will take them awhile to get used to Rugby fans being different to soccer fans. We have had a few 'not nice' stewards outside when we have been to Wigan in the past. They think we are all like soccer fans. I'm sure it will settle down in the future.

| I know a few of the stewards at Langtree Park and I have to say they aren't the brightest bunch.

| Never ever been searched like that before going into a rugby ground. I've had stewards asking to have a quick look in bags etc which is fair enough but I was patted down as if I was a potential terrorist! The stewards outside the ground really did seem OTT, I understand there being a need for a police presence aswell but the amount of police officers around seemed like overkill.

They were extremely heavy handed before the game on the turnstile as were merseyside police. The stewards were a disgrace to the saints club'"
I think I know the one you're talking about. He definitely looked like he was trying to goad some of our fans, couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. I managed to avoid being searched, but the last time I saw people being patted down like that was when the Queen came to officially open the new part of the MRI where I work. Maybe she was there and we just didn't realise

He was arrested and charged with drunk and disorderly.
