| isn't the south stand the family stand anyway? The reason I moved to the east was because the south is full of kids

That's the reason I didn't renew my season ticket in the south after I tried it out for a year. It'll make next to no difference.

I'm in the south and my little uns season ticket with mine is £13 it's ABOUT £120 in the east'"
has anyone bothered to read the article?
which bit of "prices in e9 and e10 will be the same as the south stand" dont you understand?
its a great idea if it stops drunken chavs ruining it for families, and the stewards/club can keep an eye on trouble makers as they will have their seat numbers.

Wrong, again. ES9 and ES10 will both be unreserved.
Should have come to the meeting Mr Pie Man.

well stay in the south stand
theres nothing stopping the whole bunch of you staying in the south...in fact if theres 2 groups of singers/chanters bouncing off each other it could be even better

Depends on how far up the stand you are (and no I'm not in the langoustine ciabatta mob).
Although, as someone else has said: how are they going to control this? Will you now get thrown out of the south if you have the temerity to get a chant going?
As an experiment it'll be interesting how or whether it improves anything wrt atmosphere or will there be complaints from their neighbours in the east?
Aside from attempting to improve atmosphere, what exactly has driven this? How many complaints did the club actually receive from disgruntled parents not wanting their little Jonny or Joan subjected to "bad" language? I thought RL was all about inclusivity, not caging people off a la WendyBall ?

Judging by some of the threads I've seen on here over the last few years I can imagine there have been a lot of complaints. Or maybe the club have decided to get on top of things before it all rubs more people up the wrong way.
Ultimately though, I don't see how they can control/implement it without having stewards acting like baby sitters.

| I can't see how its going to improve the atmosphere when all the club are doing is cramming the singers into one corner of the ground! What about the people who have reserve seating already in there, do they have a say?

as opposed to them being crammed into one block in the south stand which was S2?...
I worry for this club at times. Winning the double and trying to do something positive to keep all sections of the support happy and people still find something to complain about. I don't envy whoever has to make all these decisions one bit

The decisions were made as a result of a questionnaire on the official site, and I believe all season ticket holders were asked by e-mail to participate.

Yeh I got told that in a discussion on a facebook group, Personally think it's a positive thing that the club are trying to do.
I've heard some brilliant, well constructed arguments today though, one being that you simply shouldn't take kids to a match, then they wont have to put up with swearing and whatever else

| Burn me at the stake as a heretic , My kids and I liked the south stand atmosphere, sitting next to pensioners and teenagers alike, swearing and over zealousness is all part of a working class sports crowd, IMO teaching them to deal with a crowd is all part of a kids education.
if you really don't like it there is always Sale Sharks.

| [iThe area located in blocks ES9 and ES10 of the East Stand will be named after the Popular Side at the Clubs former Central Park home and is the place to congregate for those fans wanting to generating atmosphere on matchdays. To ensure vocal fans aren't financially disadvantaged by moving to the East Stand, the concession and adult prices will now be the same in The Pop as the South Stand.[/i
