I'm with Jonh, if George feels this should be last season then so be it. He knows his own body, and just how much he has left to give.
So while I like the idea of him staying for a further a year. I'd hate to have my image of him tarnished because George went on a year longer than he should have.'"
Correct. The sentiment from Wigan fans is very touching and just demonstrates how much value for money George Carmont has given us.
However if there is any campaign worth making, it is that to keep Ryan Hoffman at the club for another year!
RYAN HOFFMAN - PLEASE RE-SIGN!

| words to describe george carmont since being at wigan can be nothing short of sensational. He is one of those players who has left blood, sweat and tears on the field and he will be going home with a winners ring to boot. Hopefully 2 winners rings and a challenge cup medal mind.
He has been absolutely brilliant for wigan and one of the best centres I have seen in a wigan shirt since watching them. Pound for Pound he must be one of the best signings we have ever made.
It bemuses me how he only went pro late into his 20's. He is a great player and should have been snapped up at 16! A great character off the pitch aswell who has time for all the speccies.
Games which stand out for me include the WCC. He outclassed one of the best centres to come out of australia in the last decade in Gasnier and he was amazing!
George deserves to make what ever decision he wants to and all I will say is thanks for the service Chicken George you will never be forgotten in Wigan. If you feel you have one more year! Us wiganers will give you one hell of a welcome

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

| IMO the best value for money signing of the SL era, gives nothing but 100% every game, classy with ball in hand and a solid hard working defender. A lot of what Pat Richards has done at Wigan, including winning man of steel is all down to George, it must be a dream to play on the wing outside him. Id love him to do another year, impossible to replace.

| Whilst I'll miss him and hope he signs for another year, with George, Hoffman and Finch rumoured to be leaving, what an opportunity to have a all British Superleague champions squad.
Pat can claim he's Irish and played most of his pro career at Wigan. Thats leaves Lima and he's banned so often, we should look a deregistering him every few weeks.

| When he scores at home they should play “Please Don’t Go” by KWS (Couldn’t remember who sang it, had to look it up online).
George just oozes class, simples. Why was Pat top try scorer last year? A lot of it (not all) was down to GC.
If that massive bandage appears on his thigh again this season then fair do’s let him retire, otherwise c’mon GC give us one more year.

He really had been one of our best signings and a real unsung hero, I hope this makes a difference but doubt it; the lad knows how much his body can take and when to give in
Love to seem him stay 'within' the club though as Deacon is doing

| I think the dissapointing thing that we wont be able to get anyone of a similar quality without paying big money, which we currently dont have avaliable unless hoffman and a couple of others leave

Personally I think George Osbourne has been in touch with IL scrieking about the countries huge financial deficit and one way of vastly reducing it is by stopping shelling out every week for Carmonts family allowance.

36121_1270460193.jpg Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.
Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_36121.jpg |

| To the tune of Bloc Party's Two More Years:
In two more years, now Georgie, will see another view
Such longing for the past for such completion
What was once golden has now turned a shade of grey
We've become crueller in your presence
We say: "be brave, cos retirement's the wrong way"
This pain won't last for ever, this pain won't last for ever
One more year, only one more year
One more year, only one more year
One more year so hold on

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

I hope GC sees this and realises how much the people of wigan love him!
Come on George - Your a long time retired - dont go now and then regret it.
George is faster this season than ive ever seen him and looks far less injury prone than the last couple of years - That doesnt look like he's ready for retiring to me.
If hes wavering then the club should offer him a contract for next season to play 'x' number of games. Could suit everyone - George doesnt overexert himself / gets a last glory year / fans are happy / and it gives us time for one of the young lads to get up to speed.
Sign him to play 12/15 games next year? Let him play in the bigger games where his talents will be needed, He goes out on a high with memorys of big nights against St Helens / Wire / Leeds / Huddersfield / Hull etc and give one of the young uns chance to learn their trade against your Salfords / Castlefords / Celtics / Londons etc.
