39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| I'm going.............and win or lose I'll go again next week, and the week after, it is hard now watching performances like that we got at Celtic, but I've been doing this for 50 years now and believe me I've seen worse, not much, but worse, so its all aboard the coach 12 o'clock Sunday, probably moaning all the way home, then looking ahead to the next game, a new coach in charge, new players (hopefully) coming in next year, a Cup Semi to look forward to, its the roller coaster ride all over again..............all aboard !!!!!

Now after the events of the last 24 hours I feel really guilty about not going and getting behind the team and the club.
'"
I think had the events of the last 24 hours occurred when people were not already totally fed up with the way things are then there may have been some sort of 2006-like rally to support the team.
Unfortunately I think a lot of people see it as just yet another symptom of the general poor state the club is perceived to be in.
In the past when the team has lost matches, sometimes down to a really poor performance I left the ground seething but come the next week have always felt the team needs my support even more to get back on track.
At the moment that emotion to redouble the support for the team has gone. If it were not for the fact my Dad gets out very little these days and the matches are one of the few times he does and also I want my son to get into the tradition of going to matches, I would find it very easy to simply not bother. A home game to me is a longer journey than some away matches for some people so its not much fun to be driving to the game thinking they will most likely lose. I sometimes think I must be mad to keep doing it.
Dave

| As much as it hurts watching us at the moment I can never see myself not going. Wigan RL is in my blood and is in fact my life I cannot imagine my life without watching Wigan. I'll be there on Sunday

Not a terrible supporter at all, he's expressing the feelings of thousands of Wigan fans, a lot of players at this club show no nothing to make us believe they want to be at this club, so why should people spend good money to go and watch them?

| I don't blame people anymore - I used to be someone who thought boo'ing the team off the pitch was disgusting, but when the team can't be bothered, why should the fans? Don't blame anyone for not going - I go for the rugby now, not Wigan, I just simply love rugby league.
What I would like to know though, is will all you people who say 'I'm not going Hull KR' be attending the semi-final against Warrington? And if we win? Will you be attending the final? If your willing to give up your support against Hull KR in a league match, how come your not gonna give up on the semi?

| I can understand people not going. It's expensive and time consuming & can totally see why people wouldn't want to waste those sacrifces on performances that are heavily under achieving as well as off the field behaviour that puts darks clouds over the culture within the team.
For me personally though, I feel just as part of Wigan Rugby League as any player or coach and will contunue to follow and support my club even if certain people within the club (regardless of their role) are letting the rest of us down.

Players and coaches come and go, real fans will be there come rain or shine, in good times and bad, you enjoy the good times more if you were there during the bad (trust me on this !), success comes and goes, our wait may go on for a time yet, IL has lots of work to do, some question if he is the man for the job, only time will tell, hindsight is a wonderful thing, there is work being done behind the scenes, people will be moving on and others brought in, a lot of problems at the club are not of his making.Since our last triumph in 2002 we have appeared in 2 Grand Finals and a Challenge Cup Final albeit losing them all, imagine what Warrington, Castleford, Salford, Wakefield, HKR, Huddersfield would give for that, its all relative, we have huge expectations at our club, dont turn your back on them ( I know you wont Alex), keep going, its a hard road, but it will be worth it in the end.
