| If Ken Davy, Ian Lenagan plus McManus and Moran could get together with some of their progressive ideas the game could really move forward.
Trouble is somewhere in there would be Hetherington so they would end up not going anywhere which is where we've been at for years.

Indeed. Hetherington is the last person the RFL and the other SL chairmen should speak to if they want advice on how to run a financially self sufficiant RL club.

Agree totally Hetherington has done such a rubbish job of making Leeds a self sufficient team, and successful, he would have absolutely nothing of any use to say

| Good to see the Leeds fans agreeing...
Anyway I've always thought Elliot Whitehead is a good player at Bradford, but he's not a Hock type of player that would be able to easily replace him.
I like the idea that's already been mentioned of Gelling going into the 2nd row, I think he could do a good job there!

Progressive = buying anyone available & winning virtually nowt? While losing millions to boot. If it wasn't for that pesky Hetherington...

Gelling in the pack? As much as I would love to see that from a wire fans point of view, I highly doubt it. Wigan coped when Hock was banned and they'll do the same if he is sold.

| Hetherington is not progressive.
Those I mentioned have spent hours of hard work and £ms of money into new stadiums and facilities to increase their revenue. Leeds ground is a dump. Three sides have had PP for demolition for years but are still standing. The Leeds club has more income revenue sources than any other RL and by some distance. For turnover no one can come near to Leeds.
Leeds with their revenue should be in a new or re-built stadium with modern facilities and with the added crowds a modern stadium brings should be averaging over 20k a match, yet are not.
So Wigan, Saints and Warrington have won nowt!
Lets just remind ourselves who Wire beat in the C Cup final in 2010 and 2012. At the same time perhaps mention that Wigan beat the same outfit in 2011.
Wigan, Wire and Saints have spent millions and won nowt? They have spent millions and are in new stadiums and trophies in the cabinet.
Leeds and Hetherington won't be boasting that double for some years yet!

Gelling played most of his rugby in the pack as a backrow forward hence he struggled with the finer points of positional play in defence. He does however have one of the best meters/carry ratio in the team from last year and also has the size that we are going to lose.
I anticipate Gelling will have a strong year in 2013 now he has settled and if used in his natural position (centre/backrow). A few if the 20's coaches I know from other clubs also started to rave about him once he got a run in his natural position at the back end of last year.

So those revenue streams just happend by accident? The shiney new stand and plans for a ne south stand had nothing to do with Hetherington? The establishment of one the games top junior and scholarship programmes was just lucky? The Leeds club has gone from almost going bust to its most successful period in its history during his tenure and managing to stay within the cap (unlike some). No matter what you think of Hetherington he clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to running an RL club more than the majority of people involved in RL, including most of the other SL chairmen.

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

The South Stand that didn't happen.
The destruction of the supporters club.

Nice selective quotation. So over the last 10 seasons the 4 teams you propose as progressive have not won half of what Leeds have combined? Selective & bitter.

If that happened then i think a bit of confidence would be instilled again, Those two would really give us something extra and the front line would be really bolstered and look (on paper) tonnes better.
