A problem I have with Joel is at times, when defending as a centre he still thinks he is defending as the 2nd rower and its too easy for the opposition to create an overlap. Have a look at the Leeds game for example, for a period in the 1st half they tore us apart.'"

Due to Amos Roberts coming in on the inside and not staying out on his wing.

Yeah it was as much Roberts fault as it was Joel's that whole left hand side was a mess v Leeds.

WHAT! I though he has been one of the best this season so far!

I believe it's usually the latter part of Tuesday night that tinytim posts the team for Friday night games.

Anyways for me, i'm, for some reason, a major backer of Amos, more due to the fact i think people are seeing things i don't with Tomkins at fb. Most teams now know exactly when he is going to receive the ball, at the moment you can read Wigan's attack with ease.

For me;

Roberts (we can't judge him until he's been given a few games on the bounce, not in 1 week, out the next)
Charnley
Tomkins
Carmont
Pat
Sam
Finch
Coley
McIllorum
Prescott
Farrell
Hoff
Lockers

Lima
Hansen
Mossop

pretty much

he's the best prop we have, just because prescott/mossop have stepped up this year is good, but Coley is the first prop on the team sheet imo

I'd be stunned if we did see this side but i'd go-

Roberts
Goulding
J Tomkins
Carmont
Richards
S Tomkins
Deacon
Lima
Leuluai
Prescott
Farrell
Hoffman
O'Loughlin

subs
Coley
Mossop
Hansen
McIlorum

I say i'd be stunned because I just don't Maguire picking anyone bar Sam at Fullback so maybe that side but with Sam at 1 and Finch at 6.

I'd rather see Amos at FB and Sam at 6, but can't see it, I think he'll go with the above.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled. For 27 - 0 you get a trophy For 75 - 0 you get sod all. Wigan had eight in a row Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg

The big concern I have with Finch and Deacon as half back pairing is lack of pace, they are too similar IMO and it may cause problems defensively.

Deacon defends better on the left hand side. Early last season when Deacon was getting games off the bench he played on the right hand side he looked very weak defensively. Now if you look at our left hand side it looks the weakest with Finch and Carmont seeming to have no understanding. If you put Deacon down that side it might help having a familiar combination, but if you move Finch to the right then chances are he'll have a similar lack of understanding with the players down that side. I agree that lack of pace could be a problem, although there isn't any pace in a Leuluai/Deacon combination either so I don't think there's that much difference.

Well so much for all of you calling for Amos to go to full back. Not even in the squad!

When will people realise that Sam is our full back? End of.

And yet you'd have Sam at fullback despite this? Can't be that much of a 'big concern' then because Leuluai doesn't have that much pace either.
