Not much you can do without a beer licence though.

| Quote: Parsifal "That description "ala phoenix nights" was spot on.
You would have to keep your head very far up the clubs back passage to think it was anything other than very poor.
Better than nothing but poor none the less.
I mean come on.
there was a hand full of stalls - two of which where road kill burger vans.
another was a yellow tent containing a tv and nothing else really that was appanrently goign to encourage me into recycling... and lets be honest nothing much else.
When they advertised a mini fair surely no one expected ONE ride ???
Yes there were the players there to sign stuff and have their photo's etc but for people to make out things like Stu Fielden using a hoola hoop was the high light be honest it shows that it was not really all that good was it'"
I couldn't agree more mate.
Aoife was very happy to get a poster, complete with autographs of the players.
However, the 60 minute+ queue was horrendous and there should have been things like bouncy castles for the kids or whatever.
My wife, being a non-rugby type was not impressed by any of it, whilst Aoife and I went home feeling (at best) mild disappointment.
As to Stu Fielden being the highlight - I'd agree, but I was stuck in the autograph queue. Aoife found it extremely funny though (she was on my shoulders).
Finally, what the hell is a Badonkadonk ???????

Googled.........

An ‘ebonic’ expression for an extremely curvaceous female behind. Women who possess this feature usually have a small waist that violently explodes into a round and juicy posterior. Other characteristics would be moderately wide hips and a large amount of booty cleavage (i.e, depth of butt-crack). '"
Why not just say she had a big a*se! I'll be keeping look out at the next home game now though!

I don't want to get into an argument about it ,this is my opinion. It wont stop me supporting anything else that the club does. This just didn't do it for me.'"

| anyone see Eamon O'Carroll tryin to dance to 'Big Fish, Little Fish, cardboard box'? hahaha now that was funny. I just thought that Gleeson seemed like he diddnt want to be there, he turned up later than the rest then went earlier with his Kurt Kobain t-shirt on instead of training gear like all the rest. Anyone else think that?

| as usual conroy... What a load of crap.
Our stadium manager or whoever holds a licence for the piedome and the venue used to be licenced.
What would your so called problems in getting a tempory licence be?

The stadium manager might not be able to attend the fan day. If the training ground still holds its premises license, you would still need a DPS there on the day.
A temporary licenise would require a temporary event notice, and for these events the number of people attending can't exceed 499, so wouldn't have worked in this case.

As I was managing the stage I didn't have time to do much else or get in the line to get my daughters first Warriors baby-grow signed, so I had to mainly wait to grab players who came out of the tent / were leaving / arriving.
While I can't exactly put my finger on why it was uncomfortable with Gleeson, he was the only player who seemed totally uninterested...so much so that with a couple of kids and myself standing around him with pens and merchandise, he said "wait a minute" got his phone out to read and replied to a text message which seemed really odd and a bit embarassing. No banter, no looking for the best place to sign - just bamm and off! Huge contrast to every other player who although probably tired and sore from the night before, never waivered or showed and signs of boredom at all.
I must say, the experience did put me off him a bit and I would have been a bit annoyed if I had been one of the parents of those kids.
As for the Phoenix nights comparison...I must admit when I first got there and saw it being set up my mind did wonder where Jerry the berry and the dodgy inflatable castle was!
As for the yellow tent: I did see it had a telly in it but have no idea what it was for...I wish they had leant it to us for the bloody stage in the morning though!

Yeah, but that is easy enough to sort and could be done in a matter of minutes.
I didnt go so cant really comment, its disapointing to here it wasnt a great success though.

| well if we wanted to get really pedantic we could sit and run off a list of events like this that we have all been to where they did somehow, by means of a miracle, manage to get a mobile / temporary bar.
I am just pointing out that it would have made a fortune as everyone there would testify.
It seems strange that all these other events manage to pull this off yet its too difficult for Wigan? I just don't buy that.
Maybe it was an oversight. Maybe someone could not be bnothered or possibly the decision was taken that its aimed at the kids so we won't bother although that would be a difficult one to follow TBH.
Anyway ignoring the bar issue
What was the reasoning for the rest of the event being basically crap and looking "phoenix nights - ish"

Daryll Goulding was there signing autographs with his injured shoulder side , I asked him how the injury was and he replied "yeah its ok, I've just got to rest it" (I suppose signing autograph after autograph is a good way to rest it... Fair play... again me and the family had a really good day... I know it could do with improving for next year... but it was better than nowt... its was only £2 aswell!!!!
