I didn’t have issues with the yellow card. I must be watching a different game at time from the ref as the constant pens against us for lying on and not stand square for Leigh to do the same and not get penalised was baffling. Every game so far has seemed the same

I had more of an issue with the tip tackle a few minutes earlier that was deemed a mere penalty. Just wow.

The Aussies have already been sniffing around Harvie.

Obviously, spinal injuries no longer count. It's just the head knocks we need to focus on.

FWIW, I don't think the yellow should have been a red. It just highlights how utterly wrong that gimp last week got it.

Much better, as every one says, and good to see the young forwards going well. Nsemba and Hill both very good, Mago showed his worth, and Thompson put in his usual big shift. Don't think there was much doubt in who came out the winner in Moylan v French! icon_lol.gif And yes, every week I think, Wardle is a class act.

Its great having squad depth but something may have to give at some stage with the amount of quality young front rowers at Wigan.

Hill has an Aussie agent but hopefully won’t be issue for a while. Him and Junior should replace Cooper and Isa next year.

On the subject of poor refereeing, it's a good job the disallowing of the French try didn't mean anything in the end. Two weeks on the bounce now, we've come off worse from one of the two refs overruling the other.

The mitigating factor given was that Field rapidly slipped into it, which did happen. The issue is, that it was a shoulder charge by Moylan so any mitigating factors should have been irrelevant and he should have been shown red.

I think Moylan was actually lucky that Field did slip into it, which is a wild thing to have to say and shows the system as flawed.

Can we stop the silly name calling too by chance? So unnecessary and you can get your point across well enough without it.

Very pleasing performance. Field's season started last night. Attacked the line and was always looking for that gap. Don't know what's been up with him lately but he looked more like Jai Field last night. Everyone performed well, Isa actually attacked really well but I would have still have Nsemba starting over him. Pretty sure Junior can do an 80 minutes. Only critique I have last night is, I think its time Harry handed the kicking tee over to Keighran. Losing unnecessary points in Smith persevering with the kicking duties.

Agree with the kicking. I have been an advocate in the past on here for Smith kicking as he has shown in the pass how good he can be, but he seems incapable of maintaining that level for some reason even though he managed a full season of it a couple of years ago.

Time to give Keighran a go.

100% agree. I thought Moylan was both lucky and unlucky. Field clearly slipped into the tackle which is the obvious mitigation but at the same time he looked to be going in with the shoulder and not wrapping the arms so it easily could have been deemed a shoulder charge.

Could just as easily been red.

I think the refs used common sense in this case. Contact with head and he didn’t wrap however the speed at which Field fell meant that the time he had to wrap was significantly reduced from what is already milliseconds going into contact.

I was ok with the yellow.

Not a comment on any posters in particular but I do get frustrated by fans saying games gone soft etc and bemoaning the new interpretation of the head contact rules, but then call for red cards as soon as a player from their team gets involved in an innocuous one like the Field Moylan one last night.

A really pleasing performance.
I was worried before the game how we would react after the energy sapping game against Saints. A great response from the whole squad.
Some rest and perfecting our game next week ready for Cas in the CC.
Great to see Hill make his first start for the first team.
