Its a shame Tomkins wont be here next year as we could have opened up a special "Boo corner" in the away stand

B*llocks, swearing is swearing.

In fact, I find one person swearing loudly in a crowd far more offensive than for example, the song we usually sing at Wire.

I think it's a good idea. The support needs a togetherness again, Souths have had great sucess with it. I remember it being very similar to how we supported in 2011, mainly those Cup games.

The more people on board the better the idea would develop. If people aren't happy with the atmosphere, which I know most aren't ... Here's a chance to do something about it.

anything that picks up the atmosphere would be a good idea and anything that helps us cheer on the lads is a great idea. everyone complaining about the performances not warranting the chanting should consider the idea that cheering on our team may actually help the lads. sometimes they need the little boost by knowing the fans are behind them 100% and may put in a little extra effort on the pitch!

with the swearing, that is just part and parcel of going watching a live sport. if you are offended then you are fully entitled to be but you cant enforce that offence on anyone else. Fair play if you don't want your kids to hear swear words but you cant enforce on someone else your own views on what they can or cannot say because you don't like it, however much you would like to. (I do make an exception to racism which has no place in society, never mind a rugby ground).

gratuitous swearing by an individual with a limited vocabulary in a crowd is offensive...i agree on that one.
But anyone can let slip a swear word when a bit excited....i can let that go.

which catagory do you place organised swearing in?

by the way..the Warrington song i have no problem with..it doent actually contain a swear word?
Its the "5 times in a row" thats offensive, with its repeated and gratuitous use of the F word....when other words would fit just as good

You wasnt being sarcastic, iv read your posts in the past on the subject.

As for organised swearing, they are songs that 80 per cent of the away support join in with, your just in the moaning minority. Theres worse things said in school playgrounds. Some songs always will, and always have had swearing in them

but they dont have to?

yes theres swearing in playgrounds, where there only used to be swearing in the all male domains of Coal mines and factories.
Its a sad reflection of todays ill educated yob culture who would rather insert a swear word than search their brain for an appropriate clean word. Its also highly offensive to a lot of people who take kids..ie families. and families shouldnt be subjected to this filth.
Because its widespread, iit doesnt mean its right.
A little respect for women wouldnt go amiss.

A singing section ?

What about those that don't want to sing, if they are in that area.

Can they just take their shoes off and humm ?

Is y not swearing now?

"Organised swearing" LOL are you a Daily Mail reader by any chance? When I was at school 20+ years ago, most kids swore like dockers - admittedly, not infront of their parents. I don't think any of them were emotionally damaged by hearing swearing at Central Park icon_lol.gif

I can't believe the club are condoning/actively encouraging this type of hooliganistic behaviour!

Think of the children!

One of the funniest I heard from Wigan fans was at Wilderspool to Jonathan Davies....."Davies, you've got a f***ing big nose, you've got a f***ing big nose, you've got a f***ing big nose,".

He even turned round and laughed. icon_lol.gif
