yeah but at least the confidence is coming back!
Did you see the thread on here a couple of days ago "why can't we get it up for Wire", it was full of a load of defeatist crap accepting defeat against Wire, I couldn't believe what I was reading.
I think its great that you've been given a lift today, Saints are like your big brothers showing you the way and if they can do it against Wire you can too!

| I wouldn't say a team we have beaten 3 times this season and knocked out of the cup twice in 2 years are our "big brother" but I agree with the rest

How can having to do it the hard way be a good thing?

Did we win it in 2010 after losing in round 1? Yes. Therefore it was a good thing
I get what you mean, I'm just not writing Wire off until their season is over.

We lost in the last minute due to cheating. Wire were awful. Hopefully thats the difference between champions and losers.

That's more like it Sally 7/10
Good to see at least 1 Wolf on form in Mid September!
PS
Was thinking the other day after Wireflyers September comment about us not being on form as it was September
I've got a question back "When was the last time The Wolfs played a game in October"?

Now there's probably only me & 1 other who could answer why we thought losing in round 1 last time (And he aint going to post is he ) so I'll have a go.
IIRC we'd only played 4/5 games our of the previous 7 weeks and looked out of rythm.
Losing that week gave us the opportunlty to play the week after, build up some momentum and with Leeds losing Maguire it played into our hands.
If wed have won it would have been something like only 5 games in 9 weeks and I think we'd have been underdone for the semi.
Wolfs losing this week means they dont get a week off and they look like they need a week off.
As you say however, theyre still the biggest threat IMO

| They thought it was the year of the Wolves because of all the Heinz Big soup adverts around the grounds. When they opened their tins of beans they noticed the Heinz 57 logo and that was the omen as it is 57 years since they won the championship.
They are still going to be a force to be reckoned with but I'm enjoying this scenario while it lasts as anything can happen for any team yet however a re-match of last night looks like it may be on the cards and what a belter that would/will be

Neither could I, it was disgraceful.
Assuming you're playing Wire in the semi-finals, could you just remind us of your record against Wire at home. I think they've only beaten you once on Merseyside since Ted Heath was prime minister? How will you cope with being favourites?

It definitely was for us in 2010. We were looking a bit rusty and a relatively simple game against Hull KR helped us to blow away some of the cobwebs. Last year we were the complete opposite and looked desperate for the week off, once Saints beat us in week one we weren't getting to the GF. With Wire playing every round this year, along with the age of some of their stars, I'd have said the week off would have been needed, but I would't write them off at this stage!

I'm not writing them off, but if it was a good thing to lose in the first round then Smith would have wanted them to lose and everyone at Wire would be delighted they have an away trip to Trailer Park to look forwad to if they win next week. Somehow I doubt things are very happy in Wolfsland today.
