| I'd say most of the first team have improved since Madge came. This season HH, Mossop and Sam have really stood out for me. Carmont has also improved on already high standards as has Tommy since moving to hooker.
This season has seen Coley go backwards for me. He's still putting the graft in but seems slightly less effective. He's been a good player for us but personally I think one more grand final win in October to add to this years Challenge Cup would see him go out on the high his efforts deserve!

| when I saw the thread title, I just thought of Mossop and Hansen immediately.
They were expendable last season I thought, now I really would not want to go into a game without them both in the 17

| I was never really a big Hansen fan. I thought, yes he’s a workhorse and perhaps a bit under appreciated but nothing special. He has won me over though. The past 10-12 games he has hit a very high consistent standard.
As most have said nearly all have improved, but for me it’s a toss up between Sam and Mossup.
Sam undoubtedly is the most naturally gifted player at the club, if not the SL. His broken field running has been breathtaking at times this season and no doubt he has improved massively. He still needs to learn to pass a little bit more in certain situations but sometimes when he doesn’t when he should he still produces the goods and scores.
But Mossup has been the man this season. Nothing short of outstanding for me.
The fact that they are both still very young and will continue to improve is frightening.

| the reason i didn't say Sam is because Sam was so good last season anyway, I think the marked improvement is certainly with Mossop

| I think Mossop was already good last season, though of course he's improved, as have virtually all of them.
I'm going for Charnley, who has gone from 1 appearance off the bench last year to a nailed on starting spot, and who I think will get the #2 shirt next season.

| All of players have shown improvement in various areas, Finch has come on leaps and bounds from the Finch we saw in his first few games. Sam is starting to provide more passes through his hands, how much better can he get when every time he gets the ball, we expect him to score. But Mossop have been the big find, with Charnley just behind. With a closed season Joel will be able to master some of the centre roles and runs and I expect him to come on leaps and bounds next year.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Been a bit of a curse recently that number!

| Lee Mossop will probably establish himself as one of the best British forwards in the game in the next couple of years - if he hasn't already, but another forward who doesn't get as many plaudits, but has seen just as much improvement is Paul Prescott. He's been awesome this year and has earned his way into the England squad. Harrison Hansen is another. He's always been a consistent workhorse in defence, but now is ripping into the opposition. He runs onto the ball like a steam train - syooper stuff!

| I'd go for Hansen over the last couple of seasons, he's developed into an all rounder, in particular his defence is solid. Quite fast for the size of him too, I remember him out pacing Brent Webb in that try at Headingley last year, awesome! The scary thing is, he's only going to keep improving, I definitely think he's the one to watch next season!

He was SL Top Tackler a few years ago, so I'm not sure that his defence has improved that much. He is definitely offering himself more in attack, but still doesn't break enough tackles.

Yeah I agree he could break more tackles and maybe offload a little more, but he does seem to be improving week in week out so maybe we'll get to see more of that in the not too distant future. In my opinion he's just one of those solid, reliable players that every team needs, not a superstar but definitely a vital piece of the puzzle.
