| Wigan's bench has the ability to change the game. The introduction of Fielden and Pa'alsena off the bench in the semi was the deciding factor of that game.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

You will see very different this saturday. We are a completely different team.
How do Warrington rotate their forwards?

They couldn't really do anything without us being in possession of the ball. That was last year anyway, new year, new coach, new ideas, better fitness, new team almost at Wigan.
I think even the friendly at Warrington proved that the other week. About 30 minutes second half of Wire attacking us and we held pretty firm for most it. Might not get so lucky this time round but who knows.

Anyway
Cracking game for the neutral having Gaz and Morley playing is a massive boost for the team, looking forward to seeing this Wigan defence getting tested.

| the front row debate is up for grabs and for me is a 50/50 call. i would rather have our backrow and our back line. the worry for me is briers and his kicking game, and a certain mr silverwood who is a spineless ref who always favours teh home team. Whichever way this goes id like to hope the team that takes it does so on the back of some big hits and quality rugby league not a weak decision by silverwood. despite the banter both sets of fans knows both squads are quality. this is gonna be a humdinger which is a 50/50 call for me, only thing left to say really is " COME ON WIGAN"

2553.gif I've seen them bomb a quarter final, bottle a semi final, finish as league leaders, but I've still, never, seen the Wire win the league
Doom and gloom, doom and gloom:2553.gif |

| i think we have to be looking at kicking early, kicking long and playing down there. wire have riley but other than that any real pace? pressure in their half will result in errors, big men getting tired running back all the time, let our back row run off sam, tommy and deacs to create gaps for amos and co.
easy.
any jobs on the go?

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| Our pack has looked very strong so far this year, it's hard to imagine they are the same players as last year. They're running with much more purpose and the fitness is definitely paying off with the amount of hard graft being done in defence. Hull KR barely got out of their own half last week!
If we play like that again or raise the bar even just a little, Wire will have to be at their absolute best to get the 2 points. The packs IMO are fairly evenly matched, I just hope Maguire has done his homework on Briers!!

| Fully agree with the OP; if we can match them in the front row, we'll win.
Yes, Briers is in good form, but no half back can play off the back of a beaten pack, so winning in the forwards keeps Briers quiet anyway.
I'm also confident our back row can beat theirs, as it happens, I think we have the best back row in the league but that discussion is for another time. Our outside backs and bench also look better than Wire's.
As has been said, the big battle's going to be Fielden vs Morley and Coley vs Carvell.
Really looking forward to this one, just hope we perform.

| Alot of talk about closing down Briers and rightly so but I wouldn't rule out Myler having a big game.

| Really looking forward to the game, Crusaders & Rovers pack are very weak compared to the wires. Rovers managed to punch a couple of holes in us when Vella & Fisher came on. So we will have to be extra pumped up for it with Gareth (the Elbow) Carvell and Adrian (Headhunter) Morley playing saturday. But saying that the key for Wire is Briers and Monaghan if we can stop them two then if doesn't matter who they have in their pack. Saying that the whole 17 need to be on top of their game.
Saturday is building up to be a cracker.
