Got told today Smith will certainly not play, naming him the 19 makes it appear a selection issue though rather than a discliplinary issue.

Care to elaborate on his discipliary issues AJ?

I thought that but the site doesn't mention this when it usually does for other players. It just says:

It payed dividends when we showed patience with Mark Riddell. I was hoping the same could happen to Roberts.

Yes it is. I would have liked to have seen him given a shot at centre. He has said to Brian Noble that this is where he would like to be played.

But still I'm happy to see him in the side and fully fit.

Well, as long as Sam and Ainscough are still in there, Noble cant of gone much wrong.

Me too, the fact that he's playing is a bonus and in the pre-season matches his defence didn't seem to be up to SL level so it's perhaps better that he's on the wing.

I only saw one pre-season match and that was against Warrington and he only made one defensive error in that game and that was from a high kick playing on the wing.

Didn't go to the others so if he made any defensive errors that doesn't relate to the wing position then fair enough.

I have been told from a few people now it is more disciplinary off a few people who have good links to the club, which leads me to think Roberts could be carrying a knock.

I hope that it is a selection issue as you say as if it is not seems to me our coach is cutting his nose off to spite his face, in order to teach a player a lesson by naming him in the 19 with no intention of using him. That is just speculation though and in no way intended as a dig at Noble as it more than likely is not the case.
