| Paul Prescott and Michael McIlorum were re-signed last September on three and two year deals respectively, as I understand.

You sure? He played a kids game for pats at half time in that game along with Daz Goulding and Sean Gleeson.

| I really can't understand where this obsession with Cashmere has come from. Ok he maybe a solid prop, but he would be 32 at the start of next season and as the overseas quota is only getting smaller you really have to fill the quota with quality players, not 32 year old average props.

| Its just he's been mentioned quite alot over the past few pages, and some people feel he would be a great replacement for Coley. Personally I would be extremely underwhelmed if we signed him.

| He's playing out of his skin this season but I wouldn't be wanting or expecting the club to make a move.

| I'd rather keep Coley for another season. He & Fielden are the cornerstone's of our pack.

| I look at Cashmeres stats on the superleaue website and can't help but think they're not that much better then guys like Prescott or Mossops. He's made more carries by a distance and whilst he's made more metres thats due to the carries. His metres per drive stats i'd guess are very similar and imo he's making more carries and tackles then the guys I mention purely because he plays more minutes then them as he's the real go to man in the Salford pack and they rely on him hugely.
The man I can really see stepping up for us if Coley left is Lee Mossop. He's such an impressive young player and I believe he could play alot more minutes then he is doing at the minute. He has the potential to become a top line superleague player and England international.

| Comparing stats is futile. Coley causes damage with everything he does. His carries suck in more player than most of our Props and he hits harder than any Prop we have.
This meters/carry is a load of old balls for me. You have to look at quality. Mossop looks like he has the potential to supply the same type of service but for me that is still 2 years off.
Hock should also offer this type of sapping offence and defence.

Agreed mate.
If you looks at James Grahams stats over the years they're hugely impressive and what an engine the guy must have but they're inflated due to his minutes on the field in comparison to others.
I'm a huge Coley fan and I think out of the 3 older heads out of contract in himself, Carmont and Deacon he's the one i'd make the most effort to keep. As you say he hits hard in defence and attack and is a real leader. The bigger the game the better he is and his stats don't tell the full story.
I get the feeling Hoffman will leave and I still see Hock taking a second row spot and not a props position so i'm hoping we've still got a front 5 of Coley, Fielden, Lima, Prescott and Mossop to call on.

For me Hock was always destined to end up a Prop, I would anticipate when he returns he will float between the front and second row and whenever Coley does go, probably of his own choosing at the end of this year sadly as i feel he has 1 more year in him Hock will be his direct replacement.

The signings are right and stuff but Id say give davies a chance first and OCarroll and Pryce still need time yet but other than that spot on.
Oh except puletua wouldnt want to sign him theres something I dislike about him.

| Scott Grix (put sam at 6)
Puletua and Graham would be long shots, can't hurt to try.
Maybe Mason would be a more realistic and cheaper option.
Ratchford would bring good utility value to the team.
