There it is again, that buzz your posts bring because they make me remember we’re champions. The high of a GF win fades as the weeks go by but then you post and it’s like being back at OT celebrating.
We’ll look forward to the WCC in front of 25,000 at the DW. Enjoy your Union u12’s match

It took time, but the natural order eventually reasserted itself.

Isn't it funny when insecure people worry that others might achieve something?
I for one will be there at the DW - I'll probably stop short of cheering Wigan on but I won't be neutral. Always want the British side to win these games.
Good luck.
ps any idea when tickets will be on sale?

| I'll be there but only because I won't have to pay
Just getting my popcorn ready for when Saints allow Penrith to train at ours and then play them in an opposed session to help them prepare. Looking forward to the comments on social media when it happens
Am I right in thinking that the Rabbitohs trained at Wigan before we played them in 2015? I was told this but genuinely can't remember.

I don't know the answer to that, but I will say this. Ian Lenagan, albeit that since last night he's no longer our chairman, was always very firmly and loudly in support of the British team in these fixtures, and that includes Saints, with whom he had a very good relationship.

I could be wrong. I know for a fact that Peet and Wellens get on really well so it may be something that we don't get involved with.
However I also know that Rush has a great relationship with Penrith. When our Academy lads tour Australia they always base themselves at Penrith and are allowed to train there and use their facilities so I wouldn't be surprised if we return the favour.

| No issue if Saints want to host and train with Penrith. They’ve obviously had dealings with them in recent times and it would be beneficial for Saints to have opposed sessions against quality like that. I think any Superleague club would be mad not to offer the opportunity tbh.

That's another way of looking at it and funnily enough my mate at Wigan said exactly the same thing last night when I put it to him that we may end up hosting Penrith.

And it will give Penrith a close up look at Welsby and co. Win/win*
*I'm being facetious. We need to stop or slow the drain to the NRL as much as possible. Not sure we can though unfortunately...

I know you listen to that NRL podcast that you kindly told me about. I've been listening to it since and that Brent Read is obsessed with Welsby going to the NRL. He must mention him every week!
EDIT- Sorry got mixed up with Phuzzy and NSW

| An NRL podcast came on youtube earlier, when I left it playing in the background while I was working and my ears pricked up when they started to discuss Welsby. Not a clue who the guys were but they were discussing a link to Parra. One of them said NRL clubs have very little chance of getting out of St Helens until his contact expires at the end of 2025 as they point blank refuse to let players go early. We will see but I'd imagine it'll be then if it happens. I could see Dodd going over in 2025 and then maybe Welsby in 2026.

| Won't let me quote you NK but yeah thats the same one I mentioned. Its the NRL Daily Telegraph one that NSW told me about.
The journalist who mentioned Welsby is called Brent Read and literally talks about him every single week. He describes him as a "gun". I'm pretty sure he's acting as an agent the way he carries on!

| I wonder how much they actually know about him because the talk was all around Parra wanting X Factor at fullback and moving Gutherson but to me that isn't Welsby. He's a top top player but I'd consider X Factor to be a Walsh, Ponga, Papenhuyzen etc (or in the this country Field or French). Welsby won't bring that electric threat with his own running game but he'll thrive in other areas with his own style of play and they'll love him (although as I've said before, I think a move to 6 would massively help him).

You know that I'm on the same page as you in terms of him moving to 6.
