| Quote: Phuzzy "Or maybe...just maybe...Sky wanted to show the likely most competitive game (2nd v highest placed qualifier) rather than 1st v lowest place and there's actually nothing more to it than that.
Why is everything some conspiracy against Saints? Just look how many games Wigan have had moved including this Friday and 2 in this last month!
It's not as if the semi has even been moved anyway. You're just up in arms because you thought you might play first!'"
I never once said it was a conspiracy against Saints.

Look I’m pretty comfortable to admit that there probably has been talks with Sky to see if they would pick us for the Friday slot to avoid issues but we’ll never know. Other than Saints fans point scoring though, there’s very little evidence to suggest you’ve been shafted by this decision, in fact the evidence would suggest it’s beneficial to play a day later and have a days less rest (although I’m also pretty comfortable admitting that is likely a coincidence).
Maybe other sides should be outraged that this move has given Saints an edge because they can now motivate themselves by how badly done to they’ve been! Backs to the wall, minus 63 players with injury and now this! It never rains….

However to humour you I will clarify that the above is in my opinion. We'll never know if Sky were always going to choose Wigan regardless of the stadium situation.
So I will add (and this is in my OPINION) that I think that Sky have done the RFL a huge favour by their decision to avoid Wigan having to find somewhere else to play and all the problems that would bring.'"
So you havent been penalised ?
When did I say you'd used the word fact?
I said you were using emotive rhetoric that was nothing more than opinion and based on hypotheticals and tantrums (by many people)
My use of the word fact was to merely point out that everything you had put wasn't, and using "penalised" to describe Saints situation is certainly not.

I agree. The 15 hrs extra rest is neither here nor there. For me I feel it will impact on the attendance and that's my biggest gripe.

That’s a question we’d never be able to get an answer to. Play off crowds are pathetic and it feels like only die hards turn up, so I’m not sure the impact will be particularly big, if there is a negative impact at all. We’ve had so many games moved late this season for example and for every person who says ‘I can’t go now, there’s another that says ‘I can’. The fact this game was never ever scheduled for the Friday should also avoid many people having to change plans.

| And just to add for the benefit of Jukesays who thinks I try and pretend to be a nice guy but overall I'm Dr evil, what you will find is that I am balanced.
So for example I commented on the Farrell thread that his injury is a blow to England. I've defended Adrian Lam for being without French and Field all last season. I've admitted (begrudgingly) that Wigan are a bigger club than Saints.
I've also commented on the quality of your scholarship, academy and Reserves. These are just examples off the top of my head.
However I will never not mock the fact that the biggest club in SL don't have their own ground. Imagine if Sky had chosen our game and trying to explain to a non RL fan why the biggest name in SL are having to play their home game away from home. They'd laugh.
So to conclude I will always have a pop at Wigan for that until the time is that they have their own stadium. Doesn't mean I can't be respectful at other times on other threads.

100% this!
We've seen it numerous times this season, we had it again this week with the movement of the catalans game (I could go to both but its more convenient to me Friday).
It's the nature of the beast
How do all those football teams get on with hospitality on a Saturday afternoon, must be killing them.

I can understand that you won't say you were wrong?
Is that a good enough reply?

| Daft thing is I wish we were playing Saturday. A pre match pint, game done by 3pm and another dozen or so after the game (hopefully) celebrating a Grand Final place? Carlsberg Saturday that!
Lucky Saints fans.

Who said Dr Evil?
Who said being biased is a bad thing?
I didn't, embrace it, but don't pretend it doesn't exist (and in this last post you've admitted that your going to "Mock" us when you can).
That's fine, but people can see through it, especially when your way off the mark on something but defending it because it's Saints or attacking it because its Wigan.

Our crowd would have been higher
Latics were ready to switch to Sunday
Hospitality would have been through the roof
Faz would have had 1 more day recovery time and that would be the difference in him playing or not
We're 100% record playing on a Saturday this year, bloody sky know we have lost games on a Friday!
Its a conspiracy!

You said Sky are doing the RFL a favour and as a result Saints are being penalised. Much the same thing Stu but if you're insistent on being pedantic then, no, you didn't specifically say the word conspiracy.
So what would you call your not being given the date you were never given in the first place and the way that it's penalised you because Sky are in cahoots with the RFL?
