Unbelievable ball from KPP there. Shamed we bombed it but positive signs.

Tell you what, KPP at centre might work...

Ellis and Mago doing OK, Field should have had 2, Thornley has impressed me, ran hard and fast.

I wasn’t a fan of the move but yes I agree.

Whilst Field bombed one he gets in some great positions running support.

Most pleasing thing for me is the Props who all look very good. Mago is a unit. Byre was very good too.

Thornley who wasn’t exactly a big name signing having a fantastic game plsying to his strengths.

Thornley has been excellent. The person who called him a money ball signing looks bob on looking at that.

Good signs from Field, Cust and Tommy. I’m happy to see O’Neill getting plenty of minutes again. We really need to drive that competition. The forwards have been good and Bateman looks ready for a good year.

Never get carried away with a friendly but it’s a very positive half.

I think it might have been yourself who called Thornley a moneyball type signing and that's a bang on assesment. It's noticeable how much ground he's making early in the sets too. We just need to keep him motivated, as he's always been a bit rocks and diamonds type of player. Not many teams tho will be able to deal with KPP, Bateman and Thornley all coming down that one side - it looks very dangerous.

As a side note, Bullock looked goosed and ineffective. I'm glad he's someone else's issue to deal with now.

Spot on with Thornley, it’s always been an issue with pushing himself IMO and he hasn’t done it often enough. If you can get a lad at 6ft 4 running his weight, at that pace, you’ll have a dangerous player on your hands. It was as though he realised his superleague shot with Leigh last year was last chance saloon and this is now a bonus he surely wants to take.

That was me….but then again I didn’t want to see KPP in the centre and so far it looks an inspired move so can’t call them all.

Thornley is a big unit who runs hard. We use him like that he will be very effective. He isn’t ever going to be the star flair player but if we use him as we seem to be at the moment I think he will be a very useful asset.

In fairness we still need to see more of KPP at centre to make sure it’s a long term option, especially in proper games against experienced centres. The signs are very positive so far, in fact the only thing he probably needs to work on is just being a bit more patient at times and not trying to force things. He’s physically going to be a nightmare for some centres.

Mago looking like he might give us a decent starting point in attack with his offloads.

We're actually looking good in attack today.

Long may it continue.

Found a player with Mago if he keeps his form up of these two friendlies. I expected yards but his skills are exceptional.

Hopefully the level of refereeing will be better when the season starts...
