He is a player with outstanding potential, just like George was at the same age.
Don’t try to beat him or Cas fans up because Sky overhype him.'"
Sky drives me mad, you’re right the pressure that lad is under is really down to them, very good player who with luck go on and become a great player, the game needs more halves with skill but he’s a long way from the finished article.

Massively agree with this. Trueman as a 20 year old has done some very good things for us (Cas) Considering he has come in and played fullback in 2018 as we never replaced Zak then went back to halfback and has never really had a settled partner alongside him (think we have used 6 different halves with him!) I just wish the fan fare settled down a bit as the pressure can sometimes get to the young ones like him. It was similar to Joe Westerman when he was with us. Huge praise and he never materialised into what people thought.

| Partington is one of these players you love if he plays for you, but would hate if he played for anybody else. For what its worth I hate all the clapping other player's mistakes, ruffling their hair, patting them on the head etc. I know its part of the game, but it just annoys me.
Roughly on the same subject, how long will it take Jackson Hastings to turn from all round good bloke, sensational player etc to 'insert rodent here' boy when he starts playing for Wigan

Roughly .3 of a second into his first game

I am not. Powell also said he was world class, hence my comment.
I actually like the lad and think he has bags of potential, but that is a long way from claiming he is world class! The biggest mistake he made was choosing Castleford over Wigan.

I hope so, that will signal that opposition fans are envious and worried.

| Partington will cost you dearly in a big game if he carries on with the housery.
He did something similar in the championship last year for Swinton and someone whacked him, didn't see him much after that.
As good of a player as he is and could be refs will eventually wise up to it and the penalties will go the other way.

We’ll see but he looks a master of his craft to me. He’s winding the opposition up, not the other way round and there’s probably two things that could happen. He either gets an opposition player penalised (or worse) or an opposition player legally belts him (which hasn’t happened so far).

| FWIW i would much rather he concentrated on being a very good and very promising rugby league player than the 'antics'. He has got a reputation already and has put a big target on his back saying 'smash me' It is a very unusual trait to have, seems hell bent on winding the opposition up. I know young lads are cocky and young rugby league players in particular. Takes a while to mature if at all. He doesn't need to do it for me. Let his rugby do the talking.

| People go on about how there are no hard men in rugby anymore, then disapprove when a young prop throws his weight around a bit. I'm sure Fielden, Morley, McDermott etc all did far worse coming through the ranks. Cas fans crying about a 21 year old ruffling up their player's hair are priceless, god knows what they said in the 80s when it seemed to be like the wild west at times from what I can gather. Putting a target on your back can be a good distraction for the opposition as well. Back when Bailey was good, he used to do that. I remember our lads totally losing their heads in a play off game because of him, think it was 04.

I disagree, he’s a limited player when it comes to running a ball but he’s brilliant in defence and he’s found a role in the side by setting a tempo and ruffling feathers. He’s a young kid and will chill out over time but we can’t curb that side if him or else he won’t be half the player. He’s like Micky Mac was at 20/21 and it’s helping him forge a career. If he’s happy to carry a target on his back then great. Him getting people to target him won’t do anybody else any harm.

I think you are spot on there Nicky. Take the niggle out of his game and he wouldn't be as effective. I don't remember him giving away many penalties either.
