| Sadly, Wiganers have a long standing reputation of not turning up to sporting events when they have to put their hands in their pockets. Its not just a rugby thing as the football crowds for cup ties drop by over 50%.
Disposable income in Wigan is not as plentiful as some of the other northern towns/cities.

| Your talking sh*** , so Wigan must have been a booming town in the 80, 90s when their would be 15,000 plus going to a challenge cup semi final

| you have to be realistic and factor in a potential Wembley trip, a potential GF trip (very potentially!!) and then we have the WC and now even the SL game in Oz early next year.
we aren't all on megabucks, I think its unfair to suggest we don't appreciate the position we are in, but we can't support them everywhere all the time.
I still maintain that home cup ties should be included free of charge on season tickets. ok you may end up "unlucky" and get two home ties but surely the club will still make more on the days than they do trying to flog these tickets. this then gives fans more money to play with when it comes to fixtures like this.

I can't see how it can be as low as 2,500 going off initial allocation but it wouldn't surprise me at all.'" It's on the telly. Warrington town centre is hardly a bangin' metropolis. Our form has been sheeet all year. Recent performances have failed to inspire. Apathy & just being fed up with the lot of 'em has probably kicked in for a large number of casuals. School hols. Plus it looks like autumn has arrived early too.
All of which is bo11ox when you consider the Whinos/Ull fixture is reported to be a sell out.
We're an odd bunch.

It's a semi final and even with all points considered, we shouldn't have an issue selling a good 7,000 or 8,000 tickets.
In fairness there's no confirmation either way in sales. We've had an extra allocation of standing tickets and I can't for the life of me think we were only given 2,500 tickets in our first allocation when we had two thirds of the stadium ear marked for us.
I suppose we'll see on the day but I've not seen any desperate pleas from players and staff for us to support the team like we had before Doncaster last year.

| Limited tickets left in the South and East stands with some also remaining in the north is the word from the club about an hour ago. Also there will be no sales on the day which doesn't tally up with us having sold 3,000 or less.

Yeah, I heard that too. Not gonna be far off full, I'd guess, whatever the split between the two clubs.

| I think we have sold in the region of 5,000 with Salford selling the same number.

| Salford have officially sold 4,600 and as we won't be given anymore some Salford fans are having to buy through Wigan, surely the RFL could have prevented this?
A mini bus of 16 Salford fans, and a few more have all bought in the Wigan end and that's just what I know of. Hopefully everyone will behave.

Salford sold out of standing tickets two days ago and still had seats left.
If there's more Salford fans then your minibus buddies in the Wigan sections I'd be surprised. It's hardly Man U snapping up tickets in the Wigan end at the DW all them years back when Utd sealed the league title.
