| Quote: warrior1872 "Not only did wire look tired they lacked idea and the defence was all at sea, saints should have really punished them tonight a more clinical performance and wire would have been looking at a big scoreline,LMS was at it again why the hell he cant just concentrate on his rugby god only knows, should be interesting on the 19th August when he takes his first hit-up,"BRING BACK THE BIFF"'"
I think one thing that was highlighted tonight was Wire have more individual game breakers who can keep them in a game when they're playing poorly then we do. I thought they were even worse then we were against Saints in many areas but in players like Sandow and Clark they have guys who can pull something out of nothing. It would have been a farce had they pinched that game.
As for LMS he isn't going to stop acting the idiot whilst he's coming out on top. He's very clever with it all. He inflames situations but always seems to stay on the right side of being penalised and let's the opposition player give the game up. As you say the 19th should be very interesting!! I just hope we don't lose focus in a battle to just get one up on LMS.

| Important game for you and us tonight. If we beat Castleford then we go 3 points clear of Warrington, and maintain our 2 point gap (plus good points difference) over yourselves after you beat Wakefield. Just gives us a bit of comfort and maybe allows us to rest players before the cup final and maybe the week after too

| It's gong to be tough for Hull and Wire to keep focus in the super 8's games between now and Wembley which can only be a positive for us.
We need to take advantage of that.

I don't think so, it's just that they, and Wire, were both playing sides benefiting from a week's rest.

| Cas played some great stuff in the first half; Rocky is now comfortably out-scoring Marc Sneyd! But Powell can't be happy about how they let a below-par Hull back into the game, But clearly Wire and Hull have unsurprisingly both sagged a bit, and next weekend's game should be a cracker and a real test for us.

How beneficial is an extra weeks rest? We used to see it in the old play-off format, the team that got the week off then didn't necessarily look any fresher.

| I havent watched our game back, but the difference in tackling intensity between the semi against you guys, and the Castleford game was shocking. We were trying to tackle you guys hard, Friday they were cudding, no big hits, grabbing too much. Whether it was fatigue, or mentally avoiding collision to reduce the chance of injury i dont know. Only Ellis, Yeaman, Minichiello and Pritchard (2nd spell) ran hard, and they are the oldest ones with more chance of getting a knock. Hopefully a blip

That's why it's amazing how many teams get beat the week after putting in a Big performance against Wigan.

Happened after our last semi final in 2013 against Warrington, and in 2005 after Saints. Sorry sugar, but not a Wigan thing

Even if we do, it will have been a great season, finished 8th last year, to finish top after the regular season, cup final and probably a play off semi is some achievement. We will earn good money from the final and should get some fans back, this will allow us to invest and continue to challenge.
Not one fan of clubs outside Hull ( and 99% of hull fans) thought we would do this well, it would be great to win something and slightly disappointing not to win something, but we look like being on the up and hopefully this will continue.
