As I predicted, a stroll in the park for us in the end. Nice of Wigan to potter along in first gear for an hour to at least make a game of it, good for the Sky cameras.

the penalties and cards were indeed justified. Young Nathan Mason playing in only his second consecutive game will have learnt a lot from that.
The issue is questions will be asked, given what was said about Bateman going back on the field to speak to the ref, as to if Wigan were really that squeaky clean that they only gave away one penalty in the second half. - rightly or wrongly it will be questioned. Even Phil Clarke questioned it!
In the end Wigan deserved the win because hudds wernt composed enough.

Was Bateman's comments overheard? As captain surely he is (out of the 17 players in the team) the one who has most justification to speak to an official? |

Typical of that lot, an exciting Thursday night match which went down to the final minute and the SKY lot search for the negatives. Always the same, especially Stevo. Wouldn't happen in televised RU as they don't talk down their sport. |
