10172_1376829585.jpg Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013
Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013
Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg |

| We have a minimum nine hour round-trip to get to a game at the DW. We took time off work to see the Brisbane game, but wouldn't usually attend any school night games.
If I lived in the town, it wouldn't bother me: I would want to go to every game (as long as they put in a performance).

| Quote: Edinburgh Warrior "Will be interesting to see the crowd numbers for both the Salford and HKR games . I am guessing that reduced numbers will be made up of mainly away fans and Wigan non season ticket holders (cash paying public). Money the club can ill afford to loose as the already have season ticket holders money . 4 out of 12 regular season games i cant attend because of how they are scheduled (unless i take 2 days holiday leave)
Regards , EW'"
I think there'll be a good turn-out on Easter Monday. Families can spend the day together doing stuff and then can go to the game either as a family group or as individuals in the evening. No school the next day either.
The travelling support for Hull KR is not in the millions(!) it was a few years ago, so at most it would put off about 100 or so. The travelling Wigan fans have to do that journey on just about every other Friday, so why should anyone who doesn't rely on public transport have an issue with another 8pm kick-off is beyond me.
The Salford game may affect a few who usually travel to Wigan for Friday games and stay at friends/relatives for the weekend, but again that number is more likely to be in double figures than several hundred. Salford's away support will be largely unaffected, so the only missing fans will be the kids & parents who are deemed too young to be out that late on a school night. I'd expect around 11,000.

| Any football fans who read this might be forgiven for thinking what a bunch of moaners we are. We play one game a week, usually on a Thursday or Friday. They play twice a week for a start and at twice or three times the cost of a ticket plus the travel is a lot further than the M62 usually.
If say you support Liverpool FC you could expect games to take place quite literally any day of the week and at any time (5.30 kick off tomorrow for example) and Man Utd have played league games on Sat/Sun & Mon, European Champ League games on Tues/Wed, Europa Cup on Thurs and FA Cup on Friday!!! Think of the cost and travel involved in that lot!!!
But then I suppose being a fan does involve a degree of effort on your part.

And, yet again, you want to decide how much of that effort we should all put in. Change the record please.

But then (generalisation alert) the "average" soccer supporter is a single-minded fanatic (in the original sense of the word) who will happily remortgage their granny in the hope of vicarious glory. I'd like to imagine us egg-chasers have a modicum of common sense and can articulate a grievance when necessary.

Yes but they always have a weekend match. If they had no games at weekend but matches every Thursday or Friday they would moan just the same.

Thursday night is absolute shoite for myself and other many fans for several reasons.
I want to go to a game have a few beers and not worry about work in the morning. The game is an important part of an evening or afternoon out enjoying myself.
Most people per se are complaining about the lack of transparency and honesty in this. IL who I usually respect appears to have been totally downright disingenuous in this matter and the Salford game.
Personally I have already decided that I will not be renewing my season ticket next season.
