Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple? "unless you hit it directly at Paul Wellens, it's several minutes before he'll arrive at the ball." Saddened "I'm done. Brown out. If LMS, Turner or Walker get in any match day squad i will not be attending from now on in." LFC Saint:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_41943.jpg

I think some of the comments on here are way off the mark regards to Eddy P. Maybe they are a reaction to last nights defeat?

Give the guy a chance. I personally think he will be a good player once fit.

I thought he had a good game last night.

Nothing spectacular apart from smashing Anderson near the end.

Reviewing the stats of our props last night shows :

Clubb tackles 25, busts 3, carries 8, metres 61, average metres 7.63
Taylor tackles 16, busts 3, carries 9, metres 83, average metres 9.22
Crosby tackles 19, busts 0, carries 13, metres 70, average metres 5.38
Eddie tackles 12, busts 3, carries 14, metres 83, average metres 5.93

I reckon these stats will improve for Big Eddie as he improves his match fitness given the few games he has played this season.

So overall I think he will come good at the back end of the season.

I think some fans who have knocked him for not playing need to give him some time.

he's an important part of the squad. having him back allows us to give Ryan Sutton a break, and meant we didnt need to use JJ who could potentially have suffered in the heat.

Good solid game from all the props last night. They shared the workload and worked well as a unit.

I'm a big fan of Clubb at prop I must say. He looks like he could develop in to a top class player in that position.

Was also impressed with all of our props last night, Taylor seemed to be back to his old self as well, wonder if his future is now sorted?

Taylor looked a different player for sure. He was a handful in every carry and looked fired up.

Regardless of him staying or going we need that now for the rest of the year. It's easy to forget the here and now when everyone starts discussing what'll happen in the future.

what chance we will get to see Hopkins this year ?
SW usually plays someone once he starts bring them into the 19 man squads.

Quote: Famous "You also cant forget the likes of the backs too with Karl Pryce, Tim Smith, Gelling, Clubb, Sarginson, Phelps etc. There is a common denominator with all of these signings and that is that they are cheap and dressed up as a long term project. However how many have actually established themselves in the first team? How many have been as good as the players they replaced?'"

Do you even support Wigan? seriously what has upset you so much? has one of the management been rude to you? Ian Lenegan ignored you? there is a genuine dislike it would seem.

Karl Pryce - how was we supposed to know union had killed his career? before that he was a quality youngster
Tim Smith- should we just forget he won the best rookie in the NRL the season before?
Gelling- WAS REFERRED BY DEAN BELL AND ONE OF THE IRO"S!! not exactly proven to be as e as everybody try to say either.
Clubb- one of our best props this season
Sarginson- is proving to fairly useful
Phelps - was a good player for us but there was no room for him and much better than what we had at the time.

for all the people that bleat about we used to sign Barrett's, finch's, lima's and hoffmans how many of them stayed? Where would Lima or finch fit in now?

The performance against Catalan showed why you need enforcers in any rugby league team, personalities that intimidate the opposition when things get brutal and turn nasty.

Its fine to roll out statistics when scrutinizing player performances and value to the team but when things got heated against Catalans we looked to give the ball to Pettybourne on every other play at times and he didn't let anybody down!

Brilliant stuff from him and thats part of the reason we signed him!

(notable mention to Clubb, thought he also had a great game and looked like a real leader).

"Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif

Waney said in his press conference last week that he wants to give him his debut soon and he'll get real enjoyment about that

To quote SW "He's a realist. We've got Anthony Gelling, Dan Sarginson, Iain Thornley, Jack Hughes and now Joel Tomkins: all of those players can play at centre."It's a very harsh club to be at - you need to be at your best all of the time.
"He understood where he was in the pecking order. If Darrell's playing out of his skin, he's always going to be picked, but it's very tough to be at the top of your game all of the time. He thought he would have a better chance at Hull KR."
I'm trying to swap Darrells name with Eddies and I can't, its one of those managerial inconsistencies, a coach should treat all players the same, yet Eddie will be given chances - maybe because he is further up the pecking order. Now lets drop Wane out of this, all coaches do this, its a tough job deciding who stays and who goes but how comes some people get treated with a different rule book? Has Eddie been fit at all in the last few years? Was his purchase a gamble that backfired? I'm struggling to see why Darrell has to go and why Eddie was bought. Hindsight I suppose.....
