Quote: martinbuckley "£10 a ticket is fantastic, and just goes to show what horse-s*** has been coming out as to why other clubs "cant" cut their prices for the playoffs.

Looking forward to a similar pricing strategy for the playoff game at the DW....'"

I don't think it's the club that determines the prices for the playoff games as all the receipts are divvied up from all of the games and distributed dependant on FINAL positions.

The prices are set in agreement with the RFL, so they have a big say in them.

Warrington are charging full price for their playoff game. Huddersfield are charging a tenner.

Warrington average over 10,000 this season. Huddersfield average around 6,000.

Which game do you think will get the larger attendance this week?

Wire. Rugby fans don't really react to changes in price that much in general, particularly for a one-off game.

I'm stunned at the suggestion the Sam should be dropped! Leeds would have scored a few more had it not been for Sam. Wigan were 2nd best against Leeds for the majority of the game and the forwards were well beaten. Clearly that limits what the backs can do. Sam hasn't played much recently and just seeing his name on the team sheet must boost the confidence of Wigan and make oppositions hearts sink!

Calls for sam to be dropped are of course wrong. However, his current contribution when judged against his own standards is frustrating me. He just oozes class but all we are getting is tantalising glimpses at the moment.
He is our only player capable of taking a game by the scruff of the neck, let's hope he does it next week.

Which of course should happen, considering that they average almost twice the number that Huddersfield do.

Personally, I expect Huddersfield's crowd to be well above their average, and Warrington's to be below their average.

Apart from Wigan's? Our play-off & cup crowds have been pretty woeful.

Nah, charge us £10 or £25 for a cup game and the gate won't be that different I reckon

not quite
Huddersfield average, 6,300
warrington average 10,600

but we should be looking at at least 5,000 for Thursday night, which in itself is a crap time to play a play off game.
warrington will get more but that's because they are better supported.

5,000 would be embarrassing. You got over 8K for your last home game, and over 8K for Wigan's last visit, and Wigan will travel in large numbers. As Grimmy said, for the hard core it doesn't matter if its £10 or £25 or on TV - they will be there, and as Wigan's hard core is around 6000 for home games, then I would expect at least 1500-2000 of them will make the 40 mile journey up the M62.

I'd be hoping for a 7,500+ crowd at those prices, even if the game itself means little as to who will make the GF - all things being equal, we'll be seeing Giants v Warriors again in a couple of weeks!

our average is just over 6,000 so why would 5,000 be embarrassing? 7,500 would be 30% above our average gate, the same for wigan would be around 23,000 which im fairly sure would no happen.
the last game was a sunday and with our first piece of major silverware in the SL era at stake.
the previous home game v wigan was 3pm on a Saturday, bit of a difference from 8pm on a Thursday when a lot of our supporters with young families and elder supporters wont be coming.
