Not that it matters but the average age of the Hull squad last night was just under 25, not 22 like people keep quoting,

Youngsters tested in a good performance, established players looking over shoulders.. Pity about the final score, but it's a "Job well done" for me.

Because Huddersfield, week off, Leeds/Warrington is a better route than Wire, Saints/Hull/Catalans, Wire/Leeds/Hudds

Thread O/T, but i don't give one who we play, so long as players are fit.

Lets get back to "back patting" the youngsters please..

I thought Gelling was very good last night. Interestingly on the other side of the field the first pass that Burgess received was in the second half and it was from Manfredi. Thornley was steady but not spectacular. He was outshone by Gelling. Another headache for Wane.

Great game last night. If that's the future, bring it on!

Disappointed with the loss when we should really have nicked it by one point but couldn't stop thinking about the way the young lads took the game to Hull. Hampshire in particular stood out and was well worthy of the MOTM award.

Rugby league must be a great game to survive the people who run it. Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_4916.gif

Wow WHAT a game that was! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it - last 20 seconds were disappointing but you can bet your life that won't happen again in a hurry and as such was an important learning curve. Atmosphere was about the best I have experienced at Wigan since the Good Friday fixture of 2003 when we were basically without a team and all the young lads stepped up to the plate and we beat Saints. Huge well done to all the players and to our coaching staff, think I know who will be the happier coach today and it isn't Peter Gentle.

Great game your youngsters are class. Gutted we sold you Hampshire for 4 grand. That's another reason to despise our ex board / chairman. Some of our kids are alright though so hopefully they can kick on in a similar manner.

Must admit though some of your younger fans need some more intelligence! Wanting to kick off for us singing "no points at wembley" - we were taking the pi55 out of ourselves!! icon_lol.gif

As pointed out elsewhere, it makes sense to want to avoid the favourites in the first round (unless Hudds blow it and let Wire win the LLS...)

I added all the players ages up and divided by 17, comes out about 24.7
