| SL wingers possibles for next year
Carney - Big unit can take ball up like Pat, discipline needs work
Ah Van - kicker but not sure about him
Lineham - big and quick but raw
Briscoe - way fast and showed real strength on Saturday by running over H twice!

Any NRL possibilities?

Ah Van is pants, Lineham recently agreed a 4 year contract, sounds like everything's gone quiet with Briscoe. I really don't think its such a massive risk letting Burgess and Manfredi fight for the 5 shirt in the off season

| The top 4 playoff system proposed for 2015 is better than the top 5 IMO

| Quote: Grimmy "Burgess has been tearing it up in the under 19s and looked great in the first team v Hull KR, there is always Manfredi as well who has also been playing very well. If neither of them work out (unlikely) then we can always put Thornley on the wing which has worked fine in the past. As for Tierney, he can get some game time over the next couple of seasons against the weaker sides with Bowen playing in the big games, so we'll know whether he's good enough to take the #1 shirt in 2016. Same with Hampshire and Williams, they can have game time off the bench, if they play poorly we have Powell and Logan, I'm sure one of the four will always be in good enough form to do a 20-30 minute stint, and one of (Hampshire, Williams and Powell) will be good enough for the #6 shirt in 2015 if Green doesn't roll his socks up.'"
Part of the joy of following a club is seeing if you can spot the future talent when they are still juniors. Most will not reach the hights that we hope for them. This is the case if we throw them in too early, but especially if, as now, the path of progression is so confused. Is the Scorpions tie up having the hoped for results? What is happening to those lads playing down there? The competition for places seems fierce on the outer edges of the squad and some lads will have to be let go.

| I think Wane has really embraced the "Squad wins Trophies" mentality rather than having a superstar 1 - 17 and calling it a day he seems to be doing the right things this year.
This is what makes me think new players will be brought in but wont feature in every game.
People like Bowen may not do well playing a full NRL season, but playing say half a SL season? They should be alright with that in my eyes. The rest of the games the young guns can take the positions.
Lets be honest, with Pat the main loss from this year is the goal kicking. To me that should be the main priority for next year, either start drilling people like Smith and Charnley, or get someone good in and drill the others anyway in case of injury and resting etc.
From that angle, you want a solid defensive winger to help out whichever centre gets the four shirt, and a decent composed Full Back for the crunch games imo.

I wonder if the goal-kicking duties will be shared next year. I hear Hampshire's a pretty good kicker in the under 19s. If he's on the bench most weeks as I'd like him to be, maybe he'll kick when he's on, and Charnley/Smith will kick when he's off?
