Take away your 8 challenge cup wins in that period and you're left with 11. We have 12. Makes your claims of being the "cup kings" look quite silly doesn't it?

spelling and punctuation aside, you are completely ignoring the 'point' which is rather typical of you
just to make it easier:
1 wigan weren't the first professional club
&
2 what stopped every other non-professional club at the time from doing what Wigan did?

I didn't say 'Most Successful Club in CC History' I said in RL. Check the records. I'll wait. The fact remains, that even when you take away our most successful period in our history, we're still head and shoulders above everyone, and this claim we're only famous because of 8 years in the late 80s and early 90s is laughable. Wigan were THE club well before 1988.

1985 - Hull. Neither team were full time professional.
1988 - Halifax. Neither team were full time professional.
1989 - Stains. Neither team were full time professional.
1990 - Wire. Neither team were full time professional.
1991 - Stains. Neither team were 100% full time professional.
1992 - Cas. Wigan were 100% full time - Cas were probably not.
1993 - Widnes. Both teams were 100% full time professional.
1994 - Leeds. Both teams were 100% full time professional.
1995 - Leeds. Both teams were 100% full time professional.
2002 - Stains. Both teams were 100% full time professional.
2011 - Leeds. Both teams were 100% full time professional.
2013 - Hull. Both teams were 100% full time professional.
You could probably take one cup away from his twelve (the same amount I've seen). This being in 1992 when Wigan went 100% full time professional, just after Leeds RLFC did. Widnes were not far behind to join the party and as such shared some fantastic success in the early 90's.
The rest well...they moaned and whinged all the way to a point where Maurice Lindsay (now boss of the RFL) said "enough is enough" and dragged you all into the new summer era, of which Stains fans should be eternally grateful.
With regards to the dinosaurs clubs of the early 90's I quote the great Ian Brown.........."Amateurs, amateurs".

Yes they were. I admit, you were THE club. You used to be the best. Since 1996, you haven't been. You aren't even 2nd. You're probably close to Bradford in 3rd. You aren't anything like you used to be. Since the sport went full-time and you didn't have the massive advantages you had back then, you have fallen behind. I know that must hurt you, so I'm sorry to bring it up.

In response to no.2, they question and not your toilet break, no I am not suggesting that. What I, and everyone else outside Wigan, realises is that your achievements during that period are a bit of a false representation.

Check your history mate. Wigan turned professional before 1992.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |
