I have seen some of Hampshire also courtesy of Wigan TV and was quite surprised he wasn't the junior halfback to get the nod v London. Mind you Willams try in the London game was great to watch as well. Showed quite a bit of speed off the mark after selling the dummy. |

Just watched them. Give you a better idea of the build up to some of the tries (obviously). Flower made some good runs and Charnley was just too strong for them to keep hold of if those few minutes are indicative of the rest of the game. |

Think the reason Williams is currently getting the nod is that he is physically bigger/stronger than Hampshire who needs a bit more work on him from Bitcon.

Most tries in a season record for Wigan is 62 (in 37 matches) by Johnny Ring in 1925-26.
If Sam kept up his current scoring rate and played as many games as Ring did that season, he'd score 72! Perspective!
Martin Offiah got 53 tries in the 1994-1995 at a rate of 1.39 tries per match. Sam is on 1.93. |
