All this was being said before the cup semi-final and has in fact been said for years whenever he does cover at 6. It has also been true for years that when he does, it isn't a success.
I Completely agree. The people I go to games with were all saying after the Widnes and Bradford games that Lockers at Stand Off just wasn't working. I thought Shaun Wane might have experimented against Wakefield - personally I would have liked to have seen Mellor given a go as a straight replacement for Tommy, leaving everyone else in their best positions.
Of course there were many other contributing factors on Saturday, but I don't think this helped. Lockers is a superb 13, we should leave him there.
