There were (are) clean cut edges around the technical area so it looks like new turf's been laid, but apparently there's some artificial component woven into it too which is why it looked a little too green to be natural.
Have we gone for a half-way-house Widnes-lite option without telling anyone? |

After the Latics game they cut it bald and re-seeded it. AFAIA there was nothing 're-laid'.
The touchlines (on the football linesman side) and technical areas are artificial so sometimes it does look re-laid.
